We've all got a multiple teams that we enjoy rooting for but what are some teams or players you tend to root against for whatever reason?

FURIA, especially if they don't improve in Split 1, because I think they need a full rebuild ASAP.
Leviatán, because of the nzr situation + deciding to not give the LATAM T2 a chance and instead deciding to go for NA/EU imports.
You are acting like they had a chance. Their options were people that lost against 2G
so what if they lost to 2g? players like sayonara lost to apeks yet they are still very talented or good. they should be developing t2 talent while keeping some latam t1 players for the experience.
yea no thats not a good point at all, tier 1 teams performances are already not an accurate show of how good an individual is but tier 2 teams is a whole other level if youre using the teams success as a measure for the individual
Okay then let's compare teams accomplishment. Let's take Boom for example. Absolute dogshit in tier 2 and worst team in tier 1 right now. What now?
dude c0m specifically i love rooting against because of how much people glaze his mid ahh clutches.
CHADTic Gaming international trophies: 1
Turd2 international trophies: 0 (zero)
Team Secret.
Oh and TALON cause if I'm ever confident in them winning, they fall short but when I lack hope, they show the fuck up.
Lev cause they are the dumbest org ever and didn't stay true to their LATAM origins
C9 cause they are annoying as hell and never serious
FUT cause they're always overhyped and i find it funny when they lose
FNC, because I really disliked the org when they were good in CS:GO. Nothing against the players, though. If they were under a different banner I'd probably root for them
ive been a fnc fan since csgo released and was in pro play, also follow them in league and valorant.
what was it about the org specifically that u didnt like? i might not remember
It's a little petty, simply put I disliked them because of how dominant they were. I hate any sort of dynasty in any sport and when I was really into CS:GO, FNC were the closest thing to a dynasty. I also wasn't a fan of the players, I thought they were a little too egotistical for me to like them even if they hadn't been a dynasty. The Overpass boost comes to mind too, though my opinion on that has mellowed out over time, mostly.
Thankfully Valorant has yet to have any sort of dynasty. FNC came close in 2023 and I really did not want a repeat of CSGO which is why I always rooted against them, but if they're average now then I won't be so harsh on them. Once a dynasty comes around though, you'll see me root against them all the time, regardless of which org it is
nah this is understandable tbh.
Im norwegian and most of us afaik became fnatic or NIP fans for obvious reasons.
We didnt really have any big csgo pros.
we had some in cs 1.6 tho but again sweden/russia dominated somewhat
Just out of curiosity, how'd you feel about Astralis during their reign of CS:GO? Or were you just not all that invested/interested in the professional scene at that point?
i was not into the pro scene at that point. i was out of my CS phase and was playing a ton of other games, notably HOI4 and LoL (yuck). i did see the WarOwl video on that Vertigo match and I thought that was cool, but that's about the extent of my knowledge of Astralis.
if i were still into the scene, i'd probably have rooted against them. would seem hypocritical not to
Yeah. I was so sad when they made NIP break up (They don’t gotta do my boy fifflaren like that)
Liquid because this stupid dumbass fucking stupid fucking org cant build a good fucking roster with their infinite fucking pockets and theese stupid fucking dipshits keep fumbling good fucking players and play like complete fucking shit to then just go on the most fucking fluke run ever all the fucking time fuck this team from the beginning they never had a good fucking roster and won way too fucking much over the years for how fucking incompetent they are
Came here to say this^. Liquid are fucking cursed. Theyre consistently too terrible to ever have faith in, but just good enough to surprise you, mess up pickems and knock out teams people like.
Not to mention ruining good players. When Nats finally gets free it will be such a relief.
Scarz, whatever this org does the scene barely benefited from it, except that one time when they almost won ascension. 4 iterations of import rosters and they're not stopping, it's as if this team hates the scene and doing all this out of spite.
Fadezis made me think he's the problem, but I was clearly wrong , it's the whole division playing pretend that's the problem.
i dislike the korean teams but thats just cause i want the other apac teams to also actually matter lol
used to be Sen cause they had possibly the worst fanbase in VCT when tenz was a member but a lot of the fanboys left when he retiered and the fanbase became better so rn its still sen but its minimal hate
I root against LEV.
I also will typically root for the underdog in any game where one of my favorites isn't playing.
I don't really hate or root against geng and vitality. But I don't really like them just cause of their bandwagon fans who hate on other teams using geng and vit success as support.
Also Too many koreaboos or kr glazers who hate on other regions in vlr nowadays make it hard to really support kr similar to china. Drx and edg are the exception for me tho.
I feel the same way, except DRX was my only exception.
EDG gives off the exact same vibe as SEN. almost like they're Asia's SEN.
Like, if you're a new fan coming to the scene, I get why people flock to the most clouted team, but is that really fun, when you can root for any other team after some more watching?
100T because I want them to win and every time I root for them they lose
Cloud9 because they keep trolling with mid roster moves
FURIA because they can't build a roster
LOUD for being contract bums
Global Esports because the owner is a clown
G2 because go sen, and PRX because they are very overglazed and I don't like their playstyle
Honestly, talon, because they didn't pick up Thai or SEA t2 talent and instead recycled BAN. BAN out of all players. Governor is fine because he has a high ceiling. BUT BAN?? Don't get me wrong, ban is decent, but there is so much hungry talent in SEA that are just as good as him.
Last year it was g2, but this year its prob 100t. I despise 100t for leaving the LTA despite having such a amazing team of rookies and burning money with their forever doomed to choke valorant team.
sen cuz of their fanbase
liquid for somehow making good teams turn to shit
DRX cuz they're no longer the old drx
not a team, but i hate foxy9 cuz i was willing to give him so much bail and stuff and then he still didn't improve and now he's part of one of my favorite teams :(
GE and LEV because they where hire to represent a specific region and they dont
specifically NRG, LEV, C9, 100T, TL and NAVI
Generally any team that isnt BR or Asian i root against
I used to dislike Giants. 2023 Champs Rhyme was lowkey sinophobic towards EDG. It's not even banter/trashtalk, Pre match press conference, post match interview & press conference, pre game hype video and half time match content he was HATING EDG and China the entire time. Fitinho was full body shoot hating EDG players in the match and full tear crying after the EDG loss. Nukkye was being a bad sport after the match is post match conference. Those 3 gone now, so all water under the bridge.
Now NRG, They made 0 internationals in 2024, sign 2 tier 2 players and a tier 2 coaches and ppl hype this up S tier winning trophies for whatever reason. Will be enjoying their downfall and not make a single internationals again. If s0m have any ambition left in competitive valorant, he should move to another org and make internationals.
NRG are so cursed i would actually support them more if they were playing under another org
after their elimination, more and more people realise they're A team with comments saying rebuilding and needs time etc. People no longer fell for Classic NA overhyping teams and teams like mibr and Kru progressing. Good balance of 2 NA and 2 South Americas is good. G2 deserve to be considered good after their 2024, but NRG doesn't.
any team that plays with a franchise spot and financed Riots horrible format, only teams i support are the ones that grinded and made it from tier 2 into tier 1 like a real org is supposed to do, nothing against the players tho, excpet for some protected ass paycheck stealers (Hype, Sheydos, mitch, khalil, Crashies, the entirety of Zeta divison)
I seriously don't understand the Khalil hate given he is on the better end of his team. FURIA literally crashed out because Mwzera didn't use proper initiator util for 14 rounds - the Reddit post breaks it all down thoroughly
hes been on Furia for 4 years man.... He just plays decently sometimes and avoids kicks but has never shown actual Tier 1 level yet hes been getting paid for 4 years
I for the life of me could never come to like the 2022 fpx roster. I like Shao, but every other player on that roster seemed way too arrogant to be likable for me. The main reason I struggled to root for Navi for a long time.
T1 for buying meteor and having two mid KR teams now instead of 1 good geng
PRX and Gold2
First one have the most annoying fanbase out of vct and G2 are overglazed to my asshole
I was rooting against 2024 G2 since people overhyped Icy despite his lukewarm-at-best duelist performance. People kept caking on "Oh, he's opening up space" as if every other duelist does not do the same, but with a certain confidence and/or aggression that feels like a tip of the spear. Icy was propped up by amazing support, but now he is meh on EG.
This year, lowkey Team Liquid just because they've cheesed into a Top 4 position despite some shambolic strats - that Fracture comp they started off with was terrible.
And always gotta be against Team Secret since it's funny to rattle Filipino diehards. Their best players are all stuck in Tier 2.
I can't really ethically cheer for Liquid just because of the allegations towards some of their players. I don't even care that it's like a chance that there false, there's a chance that they're beyond true and that harm would extend past being hated on by someone on VLR.
yeah and kamo isnt even good enough to justify those comments. if youre gonna be an ass be good at what you do ala kobe
G2, I want them to lose fast so I can actually watch a game I can stay awake through
GE. I see people complaining about LEV not staying true to its LATAM origins, and similar to this, I completely dislike GE. I get that T2 Indian Esports is very, very lackluster compared to other regions, but going for a team of full imports just doesn't seem to represent the entirety of a subcontinent with a player base.
There is a valid point that these players would damage the organization, because the results would be incredibly bad, which I agree with, but the main issue is that the indian organization has basically zero indian players, it just doesn't seem fair for the fans who want their players from their country to be represented even if the current GE roster right now is miles better than previous iterations.
you are hard coping if you think DRX did foxy9 dirty. they gave him several opportunities and he just didnt do well enough by the end of 2024. and DRX hadnt changed rosters in so long before dropping rb and zest. something had to change, especially after their abysmal performance in the 2023 offseason.
I'm talking specifically about the 2023 roster, they would scrim with foxy9 but they would drag him out whenever the going got tough, how are you supposed to build confidence as a player that way? Then in 2024, when he was on full time senti, he was playing at his personal high, then was converted into a flex player with alot of initiator work, which resulted in his level dropping. I'm not saying he's like this all time player and should've stayed on the team but they haven't managed him well at all especially when trying to develop him.
Zest got no scrim time the entire year but was chucked into the most important matches and was still expected to produce results.
Then benched both rb and zest after AVL in December when champs ended in August giving them no chance to find/trial for another roster.
ok yeah DRX management is an L i have to agree. i dont love the team, i love the players :( . idk why i was even defending them, i have known that DRX management was a flop when they ruined lakia's career by contract jailing him in 2021 after his NUTURN days. DRX then proceeded to make no changes for 2 years after that for god knows what reason, before dropping 2 of their players at a very inconvenient time.
lowk Rb and Zest got played, but disagree with Foxy9. Opportunities given left right and center...
and even though Foxy9 didn't get any opportunities when Zest replaced him from time to time, his performance wasn't the brightest.
plus, his personal "high" wasn't even that high, and flashback does way better on senti anyways. that's the nature of esports.
The past is the past and none of this matters anymore, although yes, he was given opportunities I felt like they weren't fair opportunities. During 23' League play, foxy was playing well on the duelist but dumped off after the PRX playoff loss, then dumped off again after the EG loss, resulting him not playing for the rest of the year. In 24' they took him off full time senti and given it to flashback (which is understandable) then dumping stax and making foxy play those roles (historically he hasn't been great at), and yet people still expected great performances out of him. How is it fair to have high expectations for someone when you keep changing their role? Not everyone is flexible or a flex player
I'm just saying this bc I'm a believer in foxy9 and his mechanical ceiling. I think he can be a great player with correct coaching. I just believe termi didn't manage him properly
facts, not a foxy9 hater but im also not a fan though
your points make sense
G2 and 2G both eliminated my M80 goats and 2G are frauds misrepresenting Tier 2 after only trying in ascension
C9 cus clown9 goofy org, igl graveyard
SEN cus fanbase mega cringe
FNC because the org, players are fine, other than botster
Any EMEA team because I really really hate europeans in esports. Boaster is cool tho. Also korean/chinese teams because they dominate in the LoL scene and I'm tired of seeing them.
GE (could have at least kept Lightningfast), LEV (Kingg has already proven himself as the IGL, so why not just bring aspas and nzr in and let them cook), T1 (their coach needs to get out), and TLN (Governor? seriously? at least get a decent SEA duelist like JA)
holy shit this is one of the longest goddamn posts ive seen in a while
how is bro not 5 stars yet with a post like this
