tbh it’s hard to tell because there was kinda a meta shift with the neon nerf. Sopp obviously looks INSANE off the neon and on the jett, while jitboys looks like complete shit on the new neon. It might just be FS not realizing how shit neon is now or sopp being amazing off the neon, or a combination of both. No way to find out until tomorrow ngl

I hope so, but NA T1 has too many cracked duelists I fear. Like I really want to see sonofcar in T1 as well, but like who would you even cut? They’d probably have to off role players like vita and sonofcar to like senti because that’s probably the only weak link in t1 teams rn

I’m looking at the map performance and this mf vita dropped an ace on their eco against an anti-eco after nrga won pistol, dropped another ace in a 1v3 clutch, and won a 1v2. NRGA just got cooked by this guy

I’d have to do this for each region I think. My favorite in Americas is Asuna (I love a good underdog story and I know he has it in him, but he just is wildly inconsistent aimwise. He has some of the better kayo stats historically too, so if kayo ever makes a return in the meta I imagine he’ll be good), so I think sonofcar or okeanos could be a replacement.

EMEA is probably marteen, but lowk I don’t think anyone in EMEA could replicate what he does for them. I don’t really know many emea names, but perhaps b1sk? I remember someone being high on KPI before and b1sk seems to frag well.

Pacific is jingg. I think a funny replacement could be ray4c (I remember when people were calling for ray4c to replace jingg like he was on the same level as jingg LOL). A bit more locked in answer is probably Vera or nizzy (especially nizzy in a phoenix meta)

China is slowly fs. Those who know remember his yoru games (GET THAT 0/16 GAME OUT MY HEAD AHHHH). Idk enough about china to suggest someone who can replace an igl tho, but maybe importing like joxjo could be funny

Fine, he only goes -5 every game but he shows up for the finals and goes +30

Spirit has a really good jett, but he just hasn’t had the chance to play as much jett because in the first roster there was tvirusluke and now there’s life. Lowk, life has historically fried on the jett so I imagine they’d put life on the jett and spirit on the phoneix. Spirit was doing aight on the yoru, and I imagine that phoenix is straight forward enough for him to learn.

Life remembers how to turn on his monitor like the good ol days where he was in contention for best duelist in China with whzy and kk, spiritz1 returns to form and remembers why he was as hyped up as he was before T1, and vookashu is vookashu. Nicc and Flexin ONLY go -10 every game. Absolute cinema run.

I refuse to believe my goat would play like this. Only explanation is that NOVA ddossed him and turned off his monitor

posted 1 week ago

persia is also an option, but it's a tad bit unfortunate that there's not really many options for controller igls

posted 3 weeks ago

If yoru gets buffed again, do you think eggster would ever return to pro play? :(

edit: also where would you put tyloo? I really like slowly as a player, and I was hoping they looked good lol

posted 3 weeks ago

I wonder if he'll be back if yoru gets buffed again. I miss seeing the yoru goat on stage :(

posted 4 weeks ago

Just started watching valorant again after taking a break post santiago. Now, we're in a neon meta but why tf is one of the best neon players not on neon?? Are they like overconfident and trying to train dambi for a neon buff?

posted 1 month ago

primmie? I remember he got accused a few times

posted 1 month ago

I feel like people forgot how good marteen was stage 1 last year. He has always been so good imo, but he just needs to hit his stride to really shine

posted 3 months ago

as both a prx and dfm enjoyer, I think this match is probably like 60/40 in PRX's favor. imo both teams depend a lot on hero plays with dfm being much more dependent. If we see akame on a carry agent and meiy goes crazy, I wouldn't be shocked if DFM win

posted 3 months ago

marteen was the second highest rated player last year during stage 1 and he was okay stage 2. He's always been insane ngl

posted 3 months ago

dos9 isn't an import (it's super weird but Kazakhstan counts as EMEA for some reason I believe)

posted 3 months ago

glad to see you doing much better :D keep up the good work, idk what the other two dimwits in this thread are doing, but I'm glad things are looking up for you

posted 3 months ago

Ship of Theseus ahh roster

posted 3 months ago

something said meiy was good, so I started watching meiy play and liked how he played the game. I also like the solo carry archetype lol

YarnHub is the goat

g2 was good too, like wtf was the point of this

posted 6 months ago

tldr; people are hoping he's the next primmie or Karon, but he also has the ability to improve the Japanese scene substantially (sort of like how Meiy did). Only issue is that he was a known cheater in other games, so people were a bit hesitant to pick him up initially when he first made the switch to val, but now he's having a life performance in rank and in trials (allegedly). I wouldn't rate him that highly as people have been, but I think that's mainly because he's an x factor. Without any performances outside ranked, there's only one source of info, so that's why people are on the train rn.

pretty sure exa is hawaiian

cane doesn't turn 18 until mid-season and ion is just way too young in general, so they'll need a sub for the first half and a more permanent sub for longer

posted 7 months ago

they'll probably start slow waiting for cane to turn 18, but I think they can at least beat furia

posted 7 months ago

narrate is lowk the emea farmer, so I can see a world where he gets back in his KC form ngl

posted 7 months ago

I think this is less of cortezia being replaced and more of cortezia chasing the bag

posted 7 months ago

that's just how vlr is. They have an addiction to recency bias

"xms's opping. they don't even have nivera opping. And then he smokes himself off... while holding mid. They use both of their smokes at the beginning of these rounds so they don't have any for the mid round. And then scream misses his molly from cat, and then redgar gets distracted by how badly it missed!"

english native
viet (I'm illiterate though. Like unironically illiterate)
japanese N5 (a bit worse than N5 tbh since I haven't studied it in a while tho; I believe the equivalent would be like A1)
spanish a1 (took a bit in high school, but haven't done since, so it's pretty chopped)

I'm also trying to pick up Mandarin, but we'll see since college is ramping up again.

I normally listen to ballads, but inari/congg (like they’re a combined channel) have this jpop-y kinda feel which may be close to what you’re looking for (it’s viet)

posted 8 months ago

I think you did. For me, it says 88% of people have 5 points now

posted 8 months ago

I'm ngl I didn't have them winning any matches anyway because I felt like xlg vs gx is a coin flip depending on individual performace, but it's so rough to lose such a good player at this crucial time

posted 8 months ago

maybe its a coaching diff? hard to believe that all these players fell off the second they started rocking the fur banner

posted 8 months ago

we ball with frz (senti), jzz (flex), pxs (initator), qck (duelist), dth (smokes). gotta have all the 3 letter names in one team; might as well run a gimmick

posted 8 months ago

heat (senti)
mwzera (duelist)
nzr (initator igl)
tuyz (smokes)
havoc (flex)

lowk not terrible? I think this team can take at least one map this time! (I am very ehhhh on the havoc pick but like the rest of the choices are also ehhh so like it is what it is)

posted 8 months ago

When I play in HK (I live in the US tho), the only comms I get are typically quite useless. I think I've had one game where I had a guy comm solely in Viet for ??? Luckily I speak Viet, so like it wasn't that bad, but like half the team is not Viet bro

posted 8 months ago

like in ranked or competitively? Because he has no cis games on vlr

posted 8 months ago

I don't think something has played in emea for a single day in his career, so I can't really fault emea scouting talent there ngl. However, they really should look into the apac region for their talent since a lot of cis talent is there due to geography

posted 8 months ago

I mean, if we're doing that argument, okeanos could've learned portugese too no?

posted 8 months ago

koi allegedly have no clue, but they guessed low skin sales and bad performance

posted 8 months ago

they received no prior notice, riot scheduled an urgent meeting and basically kicked them out, they say they understand but wtf Riot should've given them a heads up before they started trialing and shit

posted 8 months ago

just revamp the comps atp. -Kess +alym. zander smokes, cryo perma senti (with the exception of certain jett maps), alym duelist, asuna flash flex, eeiu scan

posted 9 months ago

hmmm, I think least favorite has gotta be americas (not by a big margin or anything, they're all really great). I like how there's always strong talent waiting to be picked up, so it's always fun to see what t2 players thrive in t1

posted 9 months ago

I like bonvoyage (the only girl kpop song I know off the top of my head) by DREAMCATCHER (I think was their name??)

posted 9 months ago

I mean, the easy solution is to buff info on the flash initiators just a bit to make it a "whatever's more comfortable for that player" pick. Bring back two skye flashes (or at least make it rechargable), reduce kayo knife charge by a bit and make it so that knife also reveals as well as supresses but has a longer activation time, make gekko have two flashes, and breach is kinda in a metaish spot rn anyway.

posted 9 months ago

t2 amer is looking so good individually rn. I would love for a lot of these players to make it to t1

posted 9 months ago

idk valorant ping is weird. For ex, as a californian, I get better ping on hk/singapore than in tokyo which makes 0 sense geographically
