Facts. It's mostly to do with the amount of events they cast. Plus it's only majors that valve really have to do staffing for, and even then, it's a TO doing the staffing with Valve's money. End of the day, it's not the same as being hired directly by riot for VCT, so they definitely get more slack.

Weird turnaround from the semmler/anders days, where i thought they were very professional, but then covid happened, semmler got canceled, and Anders went bloody senile as far as casting is concerned.

Still, I much prefer Scrawny/Launders to most of the casting duos we have in valorant. Not that they're all bad, I still like pansy/hypoc and josh/bren, but the newer duos (especially in NA, pointing to you babybay) are very lacklustre

Just a different meta. The 'floor' for how good players have to be have risen a lot. Back then it was too similar to CS in a lot of ways, and let's be real, yay chamber was fun to watch, but the agent was busted back then.

Like vast majority of duelists from NA since then have changed roles since because they 'fell off', but really, the ways in which people had to be good in those roles changed.

I'm just talking about hype around the Esports scene in terms of "peak valorant", I should have been more specific.

2023 champs had EG's storyline, PRX's storyline, playoff teams representing each region, NRG v Bilibili, Fnatic and LOUD reign being overthrown, random memes around players (com always flanking, demon1 nobody ranked player, jingg's last dance, d4v41 = david, ANGE1 snus, etc). I wasnt commenting on the agents balancing/meta/quality of players

I went to the 2023 LA Champs with friends and the 2024 Champs was at a very late time for me, so my perception of the hype is probably affected by that too, maybe slow decline was the wrong phrase to use
