I acknowledge that some people may find that because potter is a woman then they love her but the question isn't about how much she is loved or attention but is rather about her coaching ability. Frooti is saying “god” coach as in how is she great at being a coach, this is also implied by Frooti's subheader. And so your point about attention is irrelevant to the question.

I understand that people may overrate potter's ability because they appreciate her representation but noomys response implies what you just said about people loving her because of her representation and they overrate her ability at coaching because of this. I find that Noomy thinks that practically all people who love her because of her representation will overrate her ability at coaching then. - I thought that this was not true at all and so nobody would actually believe this so I just assumed that Noomy thought the question was more about why she is loved or disliked.

She coached a team that barely made it into regional playoffs to a masters, with a bunch of players who'd never made it to an international LAN before. Then followed it up with a champions win. Plus, her roster this year was a budget one and they were still not that bad.

When NRG does well, it's all thanks to FNS and the players. When they do shit, it's because of Chet.

And this logic also gets applied to Termi (and a good amount to Kaplan towards the end of last season).

Potter was trash 21' and 22' but was great in 23' and decent in 24'

Once potter finally figured out a good system for her players she's been on a uphill trajectory while chet remained the same core of his 22' run yet still was dogshit.

I do agree she’s a little overrated. But she still is a great coach. 2023 EG should not have been a champions winning team, and without potter they wouldn’t have been. That team was very unique and took every player into account and put them in roles and positions to succeed. Literally every player was way worse the year after (boostio and jawgemo aren’t great examples tho so disregard them)

Demon1 put onto raze, potter would never have done that
C0m is a very unique player and potter made the most of him
and nrg built a team with ethan as igl, spending insane amounts to do so. Potter wouldn’t do that with Ethan

this isnt all because of potter compared to other coaches but she managed that eg team perfectly, whereas coaches like chet have been criticized for their man management (by fns)

and she also makes cool set plays so those will add to it

At the end of the day tho, speculating on how good a coach is will be pretty useless, because there’s only so much you can know. Only people who are in those team discussions and scrims and timeouts will rlly know

Potter specializes in players with untapped potential i think that’s what most people don’t realize. Boostio wasn’t even that bad in 2024 tbh especially with zikz by his side, he had stinker performances here and there but i do not think it costed them a lot. His attack side calling seemed lackluster vs loud and kru imo and they were alot better in eg

cuz she's a moneyball type of coach. doesn't need big names to make things work. however, coaches can only do so much to make up for the difference in skill. the departure of Jawg will be felt no doubt

i honestly thought she was staying with EG because of Jawg, losing him is basically losing the core of the roster she likes to build around.
After losing Jawg i feel like that's when She will decide to leave, their is a 0% chance that she doesn't have offers from other teams.

while i do think she's a bit overrated, all her rosters are pretty budgeted and do way better than expected, even if they don't suceed very much. her teams have very good collective teamplay and generally fall short on individual firepower

"Fall short on individual firepower" is crazy especially because the only reason why these teams were any good was because they had someone with extremely good firepower. EG in 2023 would have never qualified to any LAN without demon1 and EG in 2024 would have never won half the games they won without jawg.

Yes, she exceeds by being a great squad manager and potentializing every player individually through the collective. But that is always limited by the squad she chooses to play. Sometimes the ceilling isn't too high and we got just competent enough players.

2023 EG was a squad with good players that became great with her + the addition of a generational talent like Demon1 that truly changed the mindset of the team. 2024 lacked the individual greatness of the team, was a more budgeted version that always got limited by having less talented players (and Jawgemo alone can't carry a team)

My point is: i think shes overtated because sometimes people treat her like she's the main cause for EG success, but she's only one factor. That 2023 run was insane for a number of equally important reasons. But she's still great and will win another major trophy as soon as she has a better squad (if she even wants one)
