Stop Glazing Rookies

The Glaze i've seen for players like Cortezia and Verno is crazy.
The same exact convos happened last year with people like Primmie, Narrate, Marteen, Keiko, Meiy, Yetujey they were all called the best in the world or region last year as rookies and none of them did anything internationally. Before some braindead VLR loser says something i'm not calling them all ass i'm just saying its crazy to be calling rookies better than already established title winners. They all have potential to be the best ITW but they aren't right now. the only people who made any waves internationally as rookies were Karon,Johnqt,Woot,Riens,Hiro,Icy,S1mon,and only 3 of those guys deserved top 10 ITW at any point last year and it's gonna be the same for this year.

i also mentioned like 15 other players, and players in brazil have potential to make top 10 but 1. their either too young, 2. bad teams, you cant call someone on a bad team top 10 ITW, or 3. its just potential, they arent top 10 YET.

n4rrate, meiy and yetujey are still considered top tier players since they kept up that performance, whereas the others you listed didn't. also no one is seriously saying verno/cortezia are the best itw, the only solid argument is that verno is the best flash initiator in americas which isn't too far fetched

Not saying you're wrong, you are in fact correct. But You'd have to understand this push towards "rookies with potential" happens because of people's frustration about their team, primarily because some teams kinda recycle players at that time.

Other factors why this phenomenon happen:

Heretics and KC
Prior to rookies joining, the team is doing badly
People don't like old players and prefer younger ones
They think they are genuinely good.

i understand they hype for rookies, im just saying that majority of these rookies people are talking about will not even be top 10 in their own region most likely. maybe top 7-5 in their own role with the exception of verno i think he could be top 3 in his specific role but I don't think hes even top 10 in region

Everyone u mentioned here, with the exception of Keiko maybe, were still S tier world class Players, seemingly only problem being they weren't on top 4 teams this year

2024 was insane for rookies, especially considering how we got demon1, something, s0m, etc last year, this year we had atleast 4-5 star rookies breakout form each region (other than china, but i expect this to change soon) and this was across a variety of roles too, say a Player is not top tier cause their team is dogshit is not doing justice to their performance

Yetujey is easily a top 5 sentinel Player itw (id rate him even higher personally)
Primmie hasn't had enough server time to come to conclusions

IMO you can say a player is really good even if they dont have a top team (top 15 in region) but to say they are world class is crazy, when you say world class i think of aspas,leo, zekken,texture,meteor,tenz, i dont think of verno,primmie,cortezia, i know for a fact a world class player can still drag a bum team to atleast a couple wins because thats what jawgemo did with eg last season, Narrate for KC, and cleary 2023 loud was a bum team carried by aspas (as seen by their results in 2024 with the same roster -aspas)

That's a point, our definitions of world class are different

My definition of world class is someone who can instantly improve a team drastically when put in their comfort/comfort adjacent role, and that happened with all of these guys imo

I still agree with u on that jawg and aspas are a calibre above theses guys, but that doesn't remove the fact that they're still great Players anyone would want on their teams( ignoring external factors like language barriers)

i think thats where the problem is, if their is a gap between people like aspas, jawgemo, eg demon1, leo and more compared to others I dont think its fair to call them world class because it kinda undermines what world class means, lets say last year aspas was on the 1-9 mibr team, and they still only got 1 win, I dont think you could call him world class even if he puts up good preformance because he would still be in the same conversations as zekken and texture players who won a event and were the star players

Again that's a difference in opinion, i have a different category for those guys i view as above world class, they're the type of Players I like to view as "carry" players, and I think they deserve to be thought of as one step above world class, we're on somewhat the same wavelength but our way of describing it is different, and while i do think some of these rookies are at that "carry" level, that's my opinion, however i can see where ur coming from and that's alright

in my opinion, alfajer are better than Tenz. Alfajer is world class, tenz is a good player but.. world class? zekken world class !

tenz to me is world class, karon is the only player i think that had a year as good as tenz in his role, arguements can maybe be made for kingg and smoggy but without tenz sentinels dont even make it to madrid.

N4rrate Karon Woot RieNs Karon + Verno Cortezia are the only players worth mentioning. Primmie needs to prove himself more, but all the others you mentioned are nothing special. Or atleast not that the top S+ tier level.
