EDIT:

Opposite
kyieori [#5]this depends a lot on how well jammyz fits with V1 as a sub, should be an interesting match
That's what I've been saying. He's coming in with like two weeks of practice. He has to either make the system otherwise it breaks ://
I'm going to go with a 2-1 for CR and map 3 goes to OT. V1's win condition is vanity. He's always been a good IGL and has brought this team to this point. Now he needs to deal with the temporary addition of jammyz and one of his first LANs(iirc). I was never a diehard cs esports fan but from my knowledge, vanity began to shine at the start of the online era when he was on Chaos so he needs to perform on LAN and get jammyz incorporated into the team if V1 wants to win this. Also penny and Zellsis need to ball out. They are incredible players but are very inconsistent so if they show up, V1 should definitely win. Honestly, of all the teams in this tourney, I have the most questions about V1, especially about how they'll perform on LAN.

Well while you are correct that vanity improved in the online era, hes been to 16 LANs including a minor in 2019. While this is the biggest lan hes been to, he does have experience offline. I personally have CR taking this solely because of jammys. If they had wippie I'd consider this to be much closer and probably v1 taking it.
Zaynio [#37]Sentinels just beat crazy racoons with an afk player so....not sure what to think for this match.
Yeah, I think V1 will take this
KohvX [#28]Crazy Racoons 2 - 0. Can tell who hasn't watched japanese val.
What, not a chance you watched any game. No way you watched Japan and actually think that????????
CR 2-1
Munchkin on Raze is a genuine threat, Neth can switch between duelist and sentinels pretty well, and the team overall is very balanced. V1 coming in with a sub will hinder a lot of momentum, and despite Vanity's IGL'ing and coordination, I don't think V1 will be able to overcome their struggle and be the first team to go to the lower bracket in Iceland.

CR was playing without their star player too so idk

why you getting downfragged LULW. they play puggy but don't have the same mechanics as the major regions to support it (as shown by the fact that they lost a 4 v 5 with sentinel's 2nd most impactful player off = that they are mechanically outclassed if they play 1 v 1s and this gem of a clip https://clips.twitch.tv/CalmVainShingleSSSsss-dqbGX5-Cot78XN8M how does a pro player miss half a clip. how does a pro team not have anyone protecting the sova in a straightforward 2 v 2) On top of this, just run through their match history. Against any team they regard as competent they ONLY have one comp on all maps except bind. And its an outdated one at that, without a single sign of astra or viper. The double duelist genuinely feels at least 2 metas behind (i.e skipped the skye/breach meta as well).
GetsystheGr8 [#48]Considering SEN beat them in a 4v5... they don't stand a chance ROFL
I'd say SEN can beat half the team which qualified for Iceland 4v5 lol
I still think V1 win though

I had seen some of their highlights and they didn't seem that bad, if they were not trolling against sentinals, this is going to be a stomp.
Gunzout97 [#43]CR was playing without their star player too so idk
it was their full roster, who is their star player?
Daniveus [#53]it was their full roster, who is their star player?
they were playing with their coach instead of munchkin

CR had their coach playing too, it was more like a 4v4.5

Unfortunately true as much as I want CR to upset V1 it’s going to be a V1 stomp unless Munchkin turns up and destroys V1 single handedly.

LMFAO WTF WAS THAT
big_chungus69 [#78]they were playing with their coach "mun" instead of munchkin
lol I just thought mun was munchkin
SeriaLink [#76]Mixwell: "We played against CR and it didn't look good, not at all... It turned out that the other day they lost to the Sentinels, who played 4v5" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Зато у них есть свой личный отбор на все международные турниры, в то время как СНГ и Турция должны выбивать европейских грандов ради каких-то 2-3 слотов 👍

TLDR "we scrimmed against them...they don't look that good"
Daniveus [#84]just seen it... is CR that bad? they looked alright in their VCT
Probably the competition in JP and KR is not as high as in EU, NA,BR.
Ibis [#86]Probably the competition in JP and KR is not as high as in EU, NA,BR.
funny because BR team also look good in VCT. How you judging their compeition is not as high compared to BR?
Maybe BR is also like JP and KR living in their own bubble at the moment
Daniveus [#84]just seen it... is CR that bad? they looked alright in their VCT
CR had a coach so technically 4v4 :D
TinglyPiano [#87]funny because BR team also look good in VCT. How you judging their compeition is not as high compared to BR?

But given the way better history in FPS games and the talent of some brazilian players, it seems more likely that they are actually good. Plus there are multiple teams on the same level, especially in Korea Vision Strikers dominated the whole scene for such a long time
Daniveus [#81]lol I just thought mun was munchkin
nah thats just a coincidence lol
https://liquipedia.net/valorant/Mun -> this is their coach who actually is named mun
Melted68 [#23]2-1 V1 or 2-1 CR

yup.. CR is the team that dealt with the "korean jett" and V1 was stomped by TenZ who has similar gameplay. It will be an easy 2-0 for CR.

dosent make sense but ok.....btww sen bodied on cr in ranked without their IGL shahzam
Hinata_Shoyo [#107]dosent make sense but ok.....btww sen bodied on cr in ranked without their IGL shahzam
And CR was playing with their coach. Your point? You can't base a team's skill off a ranked game.
Some of y'all sound like dumbasses thinking that CR is a shit team for losing against SEN in a fucking ranked game 4 v 5 lmao. CR was playing with their coach, and without their star player Munchkin, so it was basically a 4 v 4. 100T lost a lot of ranked games, but are people like "these randoms are better than 100T??? 100T WASHED??!?!?!"
There's also another belief that CR is bad because of scrim results. Scrimbucks don't mean a lot. There are a lot of teams with great scrim results but couldn't make up for it in the real game, or teams with bad scrim results but come out banging in their games. Hell G2, the team that Mixwell plays for, was pretty hyped in scrims, but they looked disjointed as hell in games.
Let's just see how CR does against V1 without having a kneejerk reaction about them losing a ranked game. Losing a ranked game is no big deal. Both CR and SEN are playing ranked in another region other than their own. Nothing to gauge from that.

EU ranked? XD EU ranked is full of bots
kita_shinsuke [#89]V1 for sure has been looking strong but not having wippie feels like a huge blow..
why isnt wippie playing? lan dodging?

honest they wernt playing with the guy who carried them ( Munchkin) and were playing with the coach. But the fact they lost the 4 v 4 without counting the coach is funny

wippie couldn't get his visa to come to iceland or something.

especially when sentinels didn’t have their IGL

you alright?
Dell [#167]Fucking sick game, kj choked on the important judge kill
he can't handle the pressure I think his heart rate went up to 200 that round
teemu [#169]how did V1 beat teams like 100T?
Don't disrespect v1 like that, they were having good calls and good clutches. They just need to calm down a little bit during post-plants and they roll. CR took the fight to them and they got caught off guard. If CR kept the momentum it was an easy loss, great show from them in map 1
teemu [#169]how did V1 beat teams like 100T?
Everyone who went against V1 last challengers beat themselves.
TinglyPiano [#166]everyone expected JP to just roll over, and not deserve a spot. glad they prove me wrong
V1 are playing with emergency sub...
teemu [#169]how did V1 beat teams like 100T?
They went to Iceland without one of their best players (Wippie).
Tira [#153]What a 1st map
Let's go CR you can do it, it's your map pick after this
Whoops sorry about that it's 1.30 am here and i'm sleepy af
Thanks for correction mate
teemu [#169]how did V1 beat teams like 100T?
they are also playing with a sub (and that sub is not really even a top player IMO).
They would not have qualified with Jammzy IMO. They qualified with wippie but he cant play here
p1lot [#177]NA salary = 20K USD
JP salary = 2K USD
NA 13x11 JP xdxdxd
at least its not league of legends
NA salary = 2 mil a year average on C9
TW= Less than 100k
C9 lost 2-0 to TW
HaSanity [#184]V1 are so trash c9 deserved iceland
They still lacked practice with the new players they added last minute. They are a strong contender for Masters 3 tho. But still, at the time, I think 100T will bounce back and realize that their old comp doesn't work and they need constant change.
p1lot [#177]NA salary = 20K USD
JP salary = 2K USD
NA 13x11 JP xdxdxd
FYI: 1USD = 109 Japanese yen
Just to give you the idea, you can spend about a day traveling in Tokyo just under 1000 yen (9 bucks). So to them 2k usd is a lot of money.
Edit: I'm wrong ignore this comment. Also i should change my name to harvard_dumbfuck :(

Don't forget, V1 playing with a sub, on CR's map pick, 13-11 is kinda sad for JP as a region, not to mention Sentinels gets a higher salary and still dominate.
GetsystheGr8 [#186]CR Map pick with V1 playing with a sub... I call this an embarrassment for Japan
You do realize that Japan has a much lower population and much lower play time than NA and EU right? Mean while, you as a no-name saying its an embarrassment for ANY country, not just Japan, is kinda stupid. And I am not even supporting CR or Japan, just in general.
HaSanity [#184]V1 are so trash c9 deserved iceland
they cant even beat V1, how you saying they deserve it?

Tokyo is quite pricey, 2k is nothing.

How much money will you need for your trip to Tokyo? You should plan to spend around ¥19,480 ($179) per day on your vacation in Tokyo, which is the average daily price based on the expenses of other visitors.

You do realize that this logic applies to NA as Sentinels won everything after a week of preparation with a new player (TenZ). So ig the whole NA region is very weak since this team is able to dominate with a new player with low preparation. And the player swap was even more significant for Sentinels, sinatraa and TenZ dont play similar roles or agents.

in addition, they are using players from korea that know japanese, but still it's much lower population than NA or EU region

Not sure about this example. TenZ and SEN would be a different case. Imagine TenZ replacing Jamppi in Liquid. Fairness in mind, would you say that Liquid wouldn't get even better and destroy more teams? SEN was already Top 1 team in NA, they lost Masters 1 because Shahz' father passed away and they didn't practice as a team in 2 whole weeks prior to the matches. So, its pretty understandable that they lost (and it was a very very close game like13-11 in all 3 matches against 100T)

You can't compare the two situations for the reason pewpew lists. Not a well thought out take.

Im just saying that people are taking the stand in situation of V1 and using it as an excuse if they perform poorly, when it likely wont have as much of an impact as everyone says or believes and this can be seen in past quick roster changes or stand in situations.

They won anyways so it's whatever at this point.
klouN [#20]V1 is a really unstable team, looking forward to see Raccoons wins in a 2-1.
Lmaooooooo u look so dumb
raka_gg [#237]5th best NA team with a stand in... still nice and easy 2-0
Yea TSM with Bang is the best
ZTX_nettA [#236]Lmaooooooo u look so dumb
no, he really doesn't, it was a valid prediction and V1 barely won
Munchkin is a really good player. but V1 pull through, even if it looks a little shaky. I trust that they will feel a little more confident going into the future games with some time on the stage, and I believe they have a day or two until their next match so I think they'll be fine.
Edit: Scratch that, they're playing Liquid tomorrow. I think Liquid will beat V1 in the state that they're in right now. Still, they have a chance at a lower bracket run.

honestly CR did embarrass V1 here

I'm just having fun reading all the comments that did not age well and look at how naive we all were.
