people keep using this cope about spg not playing well, does a team that play well in scrims but has off days in grand finals sound like a top5 team??

they are in no way better than t1, geng, drx, talon, or prx so 6th at best, and they are in the same tier as boom, rrq, and probably most other teams.. apac is going to be competitive this year

rounds might not justify how good a team is, but when you factor into that boom was also in the grand finals, but not only that, were in map 5 of the grand finals you can definitely say the teams are close

there is no such thing as a "dominant" win in a 5 map series that goes to overtime, theres just no evidence to prove that

What makes u think boom will perform better in t1? They’re still losing to t2 teams in offseason tournaments. Meanwhile nongshim is dominating scrims (which admittedly don’t weigh that much, but it’s still better than boom). I definitely don’t think that Nongshim are a top 4 team, but they’re still better than many t1 teams in apac. If boom can catch them on an off day while they’re at their peak with home crowd buff AND STILL NOT BEAT THEM, that’s definitely deserving of 12th

im saying for a team like spg vs fnc in scrims there is just 100% motivation from spg to win and 0% from fnc/th to win

fnatic/th are only playing scrims to test out new comps, try out new strats, and build chemistry

there's a reason teams play out all rounds in scrims, you can lose 26-0, and have benefited more than the team winning

What I'm just tryna say is what neilzinho said that they in particular stood out to them among all their scrim partners (I'm only saying this from memory but I think he said they scrimmed several CN + PAC tier 2 teams, and SPG were the one of the few that really stood out)

If people are really putting them over T1, GENG and PRX, then yeah I agree they're being overrated but otherwise I don't think so, they can realistically place anywhere from 4th - 8th imo

prx geng t1 are pretty obvious but i believe in drx and talon roster to be better in the season

i do think spg are better than the rest of the teams but talon is a team that matches ivy and persia with aim but also has much better coaching atm, frost gets a lot out of pretty average players

idk where you got your spg scrim results considering they're APAC and TH never went to apac this offseason while fnc went to tokyo for a riot tournament for only a week.
SPG are by far one of the strongest ascension teams and I think most people have them making playoffs 90% of the time unless we get a 2018 runaway to vancouver titans type of falloff where the entire team decides to just leave.
They have really strong mechanics and an unique playstyle so I think they'll be the next strong korean team after GenG considering the DRX 2023 complete rebuild incident.
