It’s kinda mid but he never was big in another game before val, and manages to get a big break with a huge org (g2).

The team was supposed to be good but they went nowhere, apparently the players had some issues together and zeek ended up getting dropped when he got covid and couldn’t bootcamp LMAO

Not the only reason cause they were already disappointing and they wanted an igl but still kinda crazy

So after that he didn’t expect much opportunities to come, but he ended up getting an offer to join some of his old friends from 2020 (cned and starxo) and they won champs just months later, with him mvping the event

TenZ: effectively exiled from the CS community for being so insane at the game almost everyone thought he was cheating, goes into valo, gets on sen and lights up the world at the first international and becomes the face of the game, goes into a slump, last year of competing he has an insane comeback and becomes one of only 7 (i think) players to win multiple international trophies, gets a very respectable 4th at champs and ends his career after redeeming his legacy. Almost no one in cs thought he was cheating, and most definitely wasn't exiled from the community, he just had a mediocre stint in c9 and wasn't hired to another t1 team after that.

If anyone was pushed out from the CS community it was xeppaa and leaf because all the hackusations and death threats from the Brazilians

In his first pro league event his team went in as a no-name team(bGenius). after their match against PENTA eSport (a big team at that time that had titles to its name), a the team (more specifically pengu) reported shaiiko to be cheating. after some investigation bGenius was disqualified and shaiko was banned from r6s for 2 years. why 2 years? because the only evidence the mods had against him was him pressing 4 with "inhuman speed" and the suspected him to be using macro.
during the ban every thread was shitting on him for ruining esports scene, trying to find new evidences etc. for the two years Shaiiko streamed his ranked gameplay where he was destroying everyone, killing people through walls, one taps. when people got to know it was him, they started team killing, reporting, abusing him every match. some of his teammates also shared some inconsistencies with the anti-cheat software of the game and called out the org for banning without conclusive evidence.
after the ban he returned to pro play and destroyed the PENTA core in their first h2h. he ended up breaking the overall kill record that event too.

Not Val per se, but Overwatch.

There was a player named im37, and his rise was insane. He went from first ever game in Open Division in 2019 (akin to Knights monthly tier) to Contenders (T2) to OWL (T1) in less than a month.

Open Division: 10 days (March 14 to March 24)
Contenders: 8 Days (March 24 to April 1)
Signed to OWL: 3 Days later (April 4)

And after his first ever OWL win, the interviewer spoke to him in Korean but he grabbed the mic and started speaking in English, shocking the fans and becoming a popular figure. There was even a meme that if he retired soon, he can become the OWL commissioner (basically Leo Faria’s position).

Sadly, the hype died out because the team he played for was shit, and he couldn’t carry hard enough.

Back when TSM was the most cursed team in Valorant, they acquired bang and he was tearing it up. Only problem, TSM still didn't win and they decided to keep rebuilding around Wardell and Subroza so bang (the best player on the team) got dropped. He then went on to rise through T2 with a bunch of other dropped players on BBG (best iteration of the team). His performance alongside Will gave him the attention he needed to be picked up for Sean Gares' rebuild of 100T and his performance as an individual player has stayed up to par!
