Nah, I hard disagree with this take. G2 has a justified reason for doing this, so Riot has no place to decide how players approach a round and force them to give eco frags if they don't want to (unless they want to begin dictating how rounds are played). It's not like G2 threw a gun round where they had a good chance of winning, it's classic vs guns on 2nd round and denying kills for Lev. It's not that serious.
eeeeh take is fine if you spend 5 minute thinking about it and just look at how many ecos we have this year
(For people thinking its an optimal decision just consider if a team goes and snakebite + nades themselves on defense. After all you can deny 5 ult orbs, plant and money for kills for just 300 credits.)
but the conclusion is just insane xD
considering all the shit we saw that game there'd have to be a whole bunch of fines if we start fining bad decisions.
Also personally dont find it disrespectful. If you somehow come to the conclusion that you are that shit at ecos that youre better of just giving them a free round with 0 damage and 0 util used then go for it.
If winning round 2 after loose round 1 is so hard that some team chose to throw to not even try to take a round and die from the bomb or suicide in Abyss to not give an orbe. Maybe Riot should nerf the snowball between round 1 and 2, if Riot dont want to see that anymore, just up the looser of round 1
imo, the whole dying on eco is a boring meta, and shouldnt be in the game, whether its through the spike, or jumping off the map (somehow he doesnt agree the same conditions apply to dying to a spike which is dumb af).
but saying G2 is basically throwing, should get Dqed, disrespectful for the sport, is way too much.
Riot should do something, but this is none of the players fault.
I disagree with the disrespectful, fined, yada yada take, like it’s not that serious bro.
But I do agree that G2 could’ve taken a different approach, like stacking a site or setting a trap for 1 kill etc, and then deciding to jump off depending on how it plays out, especially since they are already down 9-4 and eco rounds are technically still winnable.
But at the same time it’s perfectly fine for G2 to do what they did since they thought that was their most optimal play at the moment, so he has no right no fault them and should ironically respect the play they made.
