Alfajer’s MVP Comments Felt Off

Alfajer played out of his mind, no doubt. Dropping almost 30 bombs consistently and putting up elite numbers. But saying “what about my MVP?” in the post-game interview after losing 3-1 to PRX didn’t sit right with me.

MVP is great, but the goal is to win the trophy. Forsaken led PRX as IGL, won the whole thing, and still performed - that’s MVP-worthy. It just felt a bit tone-deaf for Alfajer to focus on individual recognition right after a team loss. Most players in that moment talk about what they could’ve done better as a team.

Curious to hear what others think - was Alfajer really robbed, or was Forsaken the rightful MVP?

alfa was for sure robbed im ngl, he had an impeccable performance and had he won then it wouldve been something people wouldve talked about for years to come as one of the best performances in an international.
I also feel like he was just lightening the mood, he was reciprocating what chronicle was giving him and to be real if anything Alfa is the one that has the right to say that as without him they wouldnt have made it to the GF win or lose. Boaster knows alfa doesnt hold anything over his head so its really not that deep man

I only read the interview so without the emotional context it seems a little inappropriate but it was almost certainly meant as light hearted fun. It could also be seen as a subtle jab against his teammates especially when he talks about them enabling him to frag out like thats all theyre good for. But again it was likely just a little tease at the mvp, and i mean he top fragged and was close to breaking the record, he has a right to make a comment like that
