No cap but T1 should disband and rebuild in Korea where their org is based in. They are a relatively large and respected org and they can attract back a lot of top Korean players playing in Japan with their money and reputation. There are so many Korean players playing in Japan who I think are individually more skilled than many of those playing in their home region, putting them in an all-Korean team with easier teamwork/coordination without language barriers could easily make new top teams.

just to meet drx in the finals, it's a great idea if kr has more slots for lans

#3

well obviously the more teams there are, larger orgs, investment, etc. teams there will get better and the region will improve and thus warrant for more slots (instead of giving brazil basically 3 guaranteed spots in champions)

viewership is a big factor in determining the number of slots and valorant may just stay unpopular in the region regardless of how much good players there are. I get where you're coming from but I think t1 is trying to expand org brand to other regions so they would just stay paying tier 3 pros in NA 10x the salary of KR to compete in nerdstreetgamers

I get what you're saying but isn't their like passion/reputation involved in this too? Also, if I were T1 management, idk if I would like paying off huge sums of money to uncompetitive teams trying to finance operations abroad. And it's not like T1 even get that many viewers as long as they keep losing to average teams in third party Tier 2-3 tourneys, they definitely get less viewers there than Korean VCT streams on the Kr and main Valorant channels combined. (also I don't know why people are downvoting you, you're speaking logically)

Passion isnโ€™t going to pay your bills or get you new sponsors. Fact of the matter is valorant has very low viewership in korea si moving there is not worth it from a business perspective. Meanwhile they will stay in NA and burn money until franchising comes when they will most likely get a slot.

And yea people downvoting that guy are dumb as shit because he is 100% right.

#8

T1 is getting only a few hundred viewers at a time playing for these Tier 2-3 third party tournaments and losing in the first or second round. Playing in Korea VCT would easily net them 10-15k viewers easily if not more on the Korean and main English Valorant channels (plus whatever number watching from other Korean streaming platforms).

Did you even try to read mine regarding viewership? T1 isn't going to get any franchising or money in the bank with the team they have in NA currently.

you're missing my point, I think it's incredibly dumb for t1 to pay these pros huge salaries to just get destroyed in tier 3 tourneys. My point is that I see T1's view to expand in NA but the way they're executing it is awful. For your statement of "passion/reputation involved in this" I don't really understand it

T1 is like the most respected org in Korea with their successes in League. They have a huge reputation in Korea and tens of millions of avid league fans around the world. By wasting loads of money sponsoring mediocre and uncompetitive teams garnering negligible viewership, it doesn't really live up to their standards and history of success in esports.

I think t1 has different management in NA as well as in SEA hosting a dota team. T1 will still be legendary and respected in league and korea, especially in the moba scene. The audiences of each esport is different and I'm sure t1 is trying to make their image in valorant good, it's just not working for them. Just like how I viewed rogue as a low tier org from their csgo roster, but they probably look good in league considering their results.

#14

Rogue has not even come close to being successful in league? Hasn't even won their regional European championship even ONCE and got absolutely crapped on by Damwon Kia at both Worlds getting eliminated in groups.

League history aside, T1 is still T1. The name and reputation of the org is still their, regardless of who's managing it and where the team is located.

idk man I saw that they reached the finals in LEC and I thought they were pretty well respected in the region. For the second sentence, fair enough but most of the time people mention t1 they're just gonna be like "oh it's the insane league faker team" instead of "wow trash org playing in tier 3 NA valorant". Also it's not like sponsors are going to be less attracted to them due to their trash valorant team, really they only have room to grow and be respected in other esports. Most fans of esports teams are only supporting one of the teams in the org, like most navi fans.

LEC is dogwater compared to Chinese and Korean teams, winning it isn't even anything special, yet Rogue haven't even won it once. A random group of Korean solo queuers could win the league with a little bit of practice.

"it's not like sponsors are going to be less attracted to them due to their trash valorant team"
uhh, news flash, they will 100% be less attracted to sponsor a team/org who is pumping huge money into a team which loses in tier 2-3 tourneys with only triple digit viewership

"they only have room to grow"
so does literally every other team, and so far, almost every other team seems to be growing faster than them

"most fans... are only supporting one of the teams in the org"
Another reason why T1 roster sucks and they should disband to Korea. They have no big name in their roster. Steel? Almost a forgotten name by now. Sorry if you like him but it's the truth.

They would never get an international chance imo

NA isn't really working
Not enough good fas in Emea, oce, kr, or JP
Maybe SEA, but t1 has never ventured there before

This org just isn't fucking meant for valorant bro

T1 has an SEA Dota team no?

Also Nuturn beat DRX to qual for Masters, and in Berlin KR had two slots, don't forget APAC LCQ too. I think there are more chances for T1 if they moved to KR than stayed in NA.

Oh shit forgot dota lmaoooo

Yes but I mean honestly it will be on2slaers in number 2

I guess APAC lcq maybe, but they will go against teams like damwon and cr

Def agree with more chances in kr compared to NA, but still would be bad

#42

You never know, OnSla2ers got 2-0'd by WGS.

in APAC LCQ CR is not a problem. Damwon maybe, but in the end T1 had a tier 1 Korean team before that went toe to toe with VS. Some of those players were on HolyMolly that made a seriously nice lower bracket run in Stage 1 2022.

Yes agreed there, I think u underestimate cr a little just imo

And onsla2ers are still quite a new team that is already #2 in kr, so they have as high a ceiling as drx or nearly that imo

I love t1 as an org, and their league team slaps, but rn they're having a tough time in VLR

#46

well, after watching CR games they look like a ranked team tbh.

ONS is also the only other team that's backed by a big org in Korea right? Besides Damwon and DRX. So we'll see.

I liked their first team with Skadoodle and brax etc. It was Ska, who involved me in video games really. I remember watching Boston Major Final as a replay right after it was played (maybe a few days later), on YouTube and I didn't know shit about who was playing and who won. I remember how I said to myself: "Skadoodle is really good, I will be cheering for Cloud9."(I didn't know who won, that game.) And then I remember this clutch from Stewie on Inderno aswell and how happy I was when they won. Right after I begged my parents to buy me CS:GO (haha don't tell me I'm a little kid, I'm 16 now and at that moment I was 11.) and after 3-4 months being a good child I got it. It was best thing in my life. Then two years later I transited to Valorant, when I saw Skadoodle transiting aswell. I loved T1, but with the time they fell off :(. But thanks to Ska and Cloud9, now I'm Imm2 and already played for some semi-pro teams. (with some very little earnings :) ) and enjoy games in general very much :).

if T1 actually wants to get back up they should honestly do a rebuild cuz something is clearly not working and i dont know if its dd8s fault or the management cuz u cant be losing to unsigned teams when u are on an org. Remeber the roster with skadoodle and autimatic atleast they qualified for the closed qualifiers
