If I train boxing, I will become good at fighting

If I train running, I will be fast

If I train swimming, I will swim well

If I train for hypertrophy, I will gain muscles that mean nothing...

I hate the fact that young people are choosing gym over sports.

90% of women prefer a body with less muscle and more athletic than a body full of muscle mass.

how and why do you speak for 90% of women
also athletes have to resistance train too

Negative. Don't go to the gym. Do sports, you will not only improve physically, but your relationships with people will improve. The gym is something you do alone, while sports will surround you with people with whom you have to learn to talk/interact.

Let the person make the choice. Some people prefer solitude . As long as they are in for being healthy and fit rather than quick results ( drugs ) , good for them .

It's circumstantial. Some (most nowadays) people just don't prefer to socialise while exercising. Yeah I agree it can be a good way to meet people but some people are just interested in different social environments

That's not even considering how subjective playing sports is. I absolutely despise playing football but I love basketball, and that varies person to person.

Yes, you have to find a sport that interests you.

Many people have immense potential, but because they don't practice it, they'll never know it.

telling people not to go to the gym is full retard. you dont have to gym alone, and you can form relationships with people at the gym too.

to take turns at the gym is hell if you train with more than one person. I mean, idk how the gyms in your country are, but in Brazil, most are full.

Most people don't understand anything about fighting, so just having average boxing skills makes you a dangerous person.

having good physical condition isn't nothing, it genuinely increases quality of life

But you will achieve the same result if you practice a sport. In reality, you will have more flexibility and cardio. Training for hypertrophy will not give you these benefits.

Cool. I was going to ask if they go to the gym a lot in Russia. There are a lot of Olympic athletes there, so I believe that the preference there is for sports rather than the gym.

i never lift, ive always done performance based exercises and resistance training. lots of muscle is actually bad and people dont even know...

why are marathon runners so skinny? because less muscle = less oxygen = more endurance and their muscle is very lean and built for optimal performance.

thats why you should always focus to have a more FIT and physically able body than just powerlifting and building imo..

Exactly. And another thing, a lot of these kids are having joint problems at an early age. They see these guys on TikTok and want to imitate them... and then they end up creating injuries that will cause problems in the future.

yeah bad form is actually the biggest fear i have in lifting. you can only have 1 bone, like if you break ur joints or elbows or back or knees you can never replace it; you can have 40 billion dollars but you will never have the same knee ever again

Why not both? For example basketball, you don't play basketball to get in shape you get in shape to play basketball. They go hand in hand at the end of the day

This. It's really difficult for us to schedule a football match but I have been trying to get in shape for those matches.
