In which region does Russia come, cuz I strongly believe that if a team is formed only with Russian players, then they are going to dominate that region like Gambit did.

Riot brought politics into their game. they won’t let Russian orgs compete in Tier 1 anymore

i dont think riot brought politics into the game, it was russia who decided to invade ukraine

Just ban the russian oligarchs, not the entire country and all the kids who have nothing to do with the war

Russians are still allowed to play in T2, just the organizations aren't allowed to play. There's no Eastern European T2 league anyway so where would they play, MENA?

2 seconds to google that there is an Eastern European league lol.

#12

which is combined with the northern league and most of the teams are from UK Poland and Northern Europe they don't have a dedicated league

Okay? They can still play in it why do they need a separate one. There’s 9 Russians already, 1 team has 3 Russians in it.

they can play in any league. a dedicated t2-t3 scene would help develop the talent in the region more than grouping two different regions into one but idk

not worth it for russian orgs to join it anyway though if their banned from joining vct so i get what youre trying to say. there's more than russia in eastern europe though so i still think its worth it for the region

I mean, yes there is more Eastern Europe. But they are already in the East league. And technically it is still kinda separate because the qualifiers are divided into North and East and then they combine.

I think the only reason it got combined is because of issues with the organisers.

Point is you could still have a full Russian team, even in Tier 1. They just wouldn’t be under a Russian org which i don't think would be a big deal for the players.

I understand now. I'm not really tapped in with Eastern Europpe t3 scene anyway so it's probably fine just more kids would probably want to play CS2

they are considered as imports in that league and u most likely wont be able to build a full Russian roster unless u abuse ltr rules just like kpi did

Russian are counted as important in EUE league :X

You have Russian team only because they are some loopholes in the import rule, they did it in MENA, they even did it in Spain league with KPI, and they do it in EUE, but that limit a lot the way to compose rosters

Where does it say they are counted as import? It literally says the “EMEA Competitive Region” includes Russia

#28

"Challengers league territory"
Challengers East : Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia,
Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania,
Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia,
Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine

No Russia

Because they can play in any region. The fact they are mentioned EMEA competitive Region disputes this. And no mention of them being counted as import.

If your country isnt on the list then you're considered an import bro... They're mentioned in emea competetive region but it applies only to tier 1
In tier 2 Russians dont have any league they could play in without being considered an import which makes it difficult to build full cis rosters

To clarify:

A Russian player can play in any region in EMEA while counting as an EMEA player (this is what is defined by the "EMEA Competitive Region"), but they will be counted as an "import" (non LTR) in said region. This is because they arent in any leagues territory ("Challengers League Territories").

Basically theres 2 separate systems.
Imports from another VCT region, in the traditional sense (not in "EMEA Competitive Region").
And players who arent LTR ("Locally trained Representative"). You need 3 LTR players.
LTR players need to be residents (so from the "Challenger League Territory") or need to have been on a roster of the respective region for the majority of the previous season.

Trivially easy to count as LTR, but it is an extra barrier for young and unknown players from Russia.
Cant comment on if this ends up making a difference though.

No, thats not how that work, you can't go with 5 full TR or RU player in France, you need 3 french LTR.

What would the the point of that list if they are no impact ?

Russian organizations are allowed to enter VALORANT it is just certain sponsors are prohibited like Lukoil
Russian players are allowed to play tier 2 they just aren't considered a resident in any region atm as Challengers CIS is considered as paused not cancelled completely

Is there any restriction on where the Russian org (without said sponsors) can sign a challengers team? So could they sign SNS for example?

#49

Orgs have never been geographically locked to only being allowed to sign a roster in X region

Idk where that rumor came from but orgs are free to sign a roster in whatever region they want (pending Organizer and Riot approval ofcourse)

the thing is, other countries dont want to give the revenue to the russian government via taxes/+
thats why players play under "not representing" or ukraine title/flag, those from russia. allowing the organisations, would indirectly help the government make/buy more weapons through taxes. its the right move to remove but its </3

I'm not going to support or contradict your thought, just do some research on why the war even started and why it's even going on now.
It will broaden your view on this.

I agree, actually lots of people from that region have been complaining how Riot doesn't put any good server within that Central Asia region that is basically killing the scene like there are people that are willing to play but the ping is so bad. I assume same thing with Mongolia and people in Russia so having a server there and then some kind of challenger league or at least Premier league could be very beneficial
