The Climber and Holyland were already recommended unfortunately and some of my other recommendations can be defined as weird as shit (oyasumi punpun, homunculus and so on)

Also criminal Billy Bat isn't mentioned

Good overview!

Kickoff was less exciting this year compared to 2024 (we had so many clout orgs in that tournament) which then helped carry over casual viewers to the VCT International Leagues.

Spanish viewership decrease can honestly be blamed on LEV going from a South America rep to a North American rep making it basically KRÜ having to carry to Spanish viewership now
As the article says Tenz' retirement and LOUD's disappointing performance also almost certainly affected things too but I'd honestly say Sacy's also likely played a large part in the decrease in SEN's average viewership

EMEA I blame the tech pauses honestly

Pacific I'd say the start of 2025 felt like Korean domination which then led to loss in SEA and Japanese viewers at the start and the SEA viewership only slowly coming back now with RRQ, PRX and BOOM doing well oh and probably Paper Rex looking wobbly throughout Stage 1 / kickoff

Third-Party events for Tier 2 has already been opened up for a while now

The issue is just that the big TOs want only the top VCT teams since those give views and the ones that do actually include tier 2 don't get a platform to promote themselves. Doesn't help that VCT teams avoid tournaments that include tier 2 since it damages reputation.

If you also look at the opportunities already available for tier 2 (Challengers) they also do not get the best viewership and companies usually use those statistics to justify if they should host a VALORANT tournament or not

Example, there's a tier 2 Nordics event coming up by Glitched where Metizport, WYLDE, Lilmix, Bitfix, Formulation and HAVU are invited to participate.

Orgs have never been geographically locked to only being allowed to sign a roster in X region

Idk where that rumor came from but orgs are free to sign a roster in whatever region they want (pending Organizer and Riot approval ofcourse)

Russian organizations are allowed to enter VALORANT it is just certain sponsors are prohibited like Lukoil
Russian players are allowed to play tier 2 they just aren't considered a resident in any region atm as Challengers CIS is considered as paused not cancelled completely

BDS left before partnership teams were even submitted
Falcons had too unrealistic ideas in their partnership submission
OpTic fucked up their submission
FaZe were awfully run during the initial partnership selection
Weibo runs very budget rosters to turn a profit no matter their results
SSG did not even apply last time
NIP was almost in VCT Americas over MiBR
