GE IS A DISASTER OF AN ORG

They didn’t add Global Esports to franchising cause they wanted them to make the best korean roster in valorant, no, they added them with the idea that they would have strong indian representation. I am 10000% sure there are players from India that are taleneted enough to compete at the highest level. GE is not looking hard enough. They have completely given up on their own country. Disappointing to say the least.

India have good players? Which one? 2023 OP sova player that got kicked to Tier 2? or the 2024 equal worst rating?

Not everyone in India plays Valorant its not at all famous in India if we talk in terms of esports.
Our esports scene is still developing and in its early stages. This is the first PC esports game where we're at least able to compete against teams from regions with a strong esports background.

That's like saying they didn't add TH to franchising so they could build the best Turkish team. Tf is that supposed to mean

#11

let me ask you a question, why do you think riot decides to add GE to franchising instead of an org like dplus which riot already has great relationships with

#14
Mortadelo
2
Frags

Very simple imo. Koreans (not that many in valorant) are already gonna watch the games because they have DRX/GenG/T1, adding DPlus would increase the viewership very lightly. By adding GE you unlock a whole region which might not be big now but its potential is undeniable.

To put it simply, although DPlus is bigger than GE, GE is more beneficial because DPlus overlaps an already existing fanbase

#15
HenBabyH
0
Frags

exactly! however, there is less incentive for india as a region to watch vct if there is no representation for them, which is exactly what GE is about to do

#20

Orgs for fanbase and stable ecosystem! Not orgs who just go and do scandals dont pay their players GE has a good history with their players and management and a good background also i think orgs like D Plus Esports didnt invest enough in valorant + there were already 3 Korean orgs which are wayy better were already chosen

I deny this even when there was no Indian in the roster in beginning of some matches of 2023 many people watched GE games people care more about performance then players if GE performs well regardless of Players people will show up and support the problem is even with only 1 Indian and so many imports GE has lost always and not showed good potential

#23
HenBabyH
0
Frags

i just think they would be doing more of a service for vct if their roster was primarily indian or at least had some indian representation, there may be some fans who are fans of the ORGs, but for the layman, they are less likely to tune in if the are not being represented at all

#25

Fun fact most of u guys wont know this but GE is registered in Korea lol also they had a Korean roster before Indian roster!!

I think they are trying their best I just feel like they should have made an academy team by now nurturing Indian talent i think the whole ecosystem gotta change its not really the orgs fault if there is no willingness from players side thats what i feel tbh

#33
Anguibok

Dplus was the 2nd best structure in prefranchised ERA, and a reliable partner because of LoL.

People care about being represented, why would any Indian care if GE doesnt have Indian in their roster ?

#36
Mikeyvlr
0
Frags

Bro thats what u think Ik many people who do care and still will watch GE matches without Indians playing in it!

yes D Plus was but there were already 3 good korean orgs T1 GENG AND DRX

#61
Anguibok

You dont care when the team got 1 win before going out bracket, but in a round robin where they are virtually top 12 isnt the same

#22
Mortadelo

Frags

Well, as a Spanish fan I feel like I'm in that exact situation. At the very least me, I don't want Spanish orgs to force Spanish players into tier 1 for no reason.

If there is no talent they can't just invent it. I think GE with a winning roster would attract way more players and do better for the scene than 5 Indian players that place last. The problem obviously comes if they have no Indian players AND they lose, but that's something you can only relatively control and eventually will change.

Also in EMEA BBL and M8 have done the transition this year from full national to international, and even without seeing the results, for what I've read both fanbases love it. Might just be EMEA mentality Ig

#24
Mikeyvlr
0
Frags

EMEA and PACIFIC are completely different tbh, but rosters to be competitive in EMEA need intl players thats not always true in PACIFIC but south asia doesnt have enough talent yet for sure

#29
Mortadelo
0
Frags
+

Well yeah but VIT KC KOI GX TH don't have a single player of their nationality, they could very much have made a very competitive roster with at least 1 player from their country. BBL and M8 will both1 player of their region which Ig it's something but still

#31
Mikeyvlr
1
Frags

The simplest answer is Riot want good orgs who can make a stable system and who show they care enough like invest in the scene create content and stuff GE has shown that! i dont think they are going anywhere anytime soon

#34
Mortadelo
0
Frags
+

Yeah I also don't think they will get rid of them. I mean they are clearly trying, sometimes you can't control if it works out or not, it eventually will

#37

Frags

Another fun fact idk if this is true or not or u guys will believe it this is coming from CEOS stream

As per him GE is doing better than many other orgs in pacific! as they having bootcamps and everything in Korea they have a good structure and everything and they are doing well financially ofc not making profit or anything but better than other orgs they know!

but just they havent been able to perform on the big stage yet

European dudes are less resistant to accepting sports teams with no or few homegrown players as your own.
(Nevertheless, in the case of LOL, rumor has it that In LEC, Teams has different sponsorship sizes when has French/Spanish players versus Eastern European/German players).
In Asia, on the other hand, nationality is much more important. No offense, This is not to say that they're all nationalists, but "Asia" is just a way of referring to a bunch of linguistically and culturally disconnected countries.

#56
Mortadelo
1
Frags
+

Yeah no I understand, the exact same thing happens in LATAM for example, many LATAM fans wanna kill LEV for going international.

So I suppose it’s a European thing but I don’t think either of those are the reasons, like we are extremely patriotic in that sense too and it’s not like I have much in common with a Polish guy either

It’s a really interesting thought tho I wouldn’t really be able to explain it either. My best guess is we’ve gotten used to it through traditional sports. Real Madrid for example has barely any Spanish players at all, and it’s not like we’re not the current European champions, yet no one complains

All of that being said my original point stands, I think it’s the most beneficial for the scene in the long term aswell. GE actually doing good would also attract so many players and make the scene thrive

#26
HenBabyH
0
Frags
+

there tend to be larger players bases per country in pacific than emea, but fair point

#27
Mortadelo
0
Frags
+

And don't get me wrong I would love to see spanish players. But Ig in EMEA we have more of a club mentality and we very much like to support orgs more than just players

What I do think is that those orgs owe to the scene functional academies in their region to change that in the future, and I'm afraid no one is gonna do it

#28
HenBabyH
0
Frags

that’s why I think that Korea and China will ultimately end up dominating Valorant, they are actually investing in academies

#32
Mortadelo
0
Frags
+

I don't think it will ever be as crazy as LOL but yes they will improve at a way faster rate than everyone else (Although Valorant is not very popular in Korea)

What DRX is doing with the academy is admirable with Foxy9, Beyn, Flashback etc

Spanish and Indian are 2 different problem, Europe is kinda unified wish isnt the case for India, and in Europe all our country are too small to have a unique country team that will be good enough. However India is 30x most populated than Spain, and will be the next China in the next decade.

Keep in mind that you better compare India with European union (Wish is 3 times populated), and Spain with Indian state, if Spain was a Indian state they would not even be in the top 10 (And Uttar pradesh is basically 5 times more populated than Spain. Sure, India is less developed, but they are develop fast

#63
Mortadelo
0
Frags
+

I'm sorry but comparing countries based on population makes absolutely no sense, that's just not how it works, by that rule you might aswell give an spot to Nigeria or Bangladesh .What actually matters is the player base and in that case I imagine it is quite similar if the Spanish one isn't bigger.

Obviously there is a potential in India which must be taken into account which is why they're not completely ignored in the first place

#64
Anguibok

Frags

NIgeria and Bengladesh are, as India not developped yet, even if you want to count in GDP India is 3 tiemes bigger than Spain, (And will be 4 times bigger in 10 year, etc, etc)

What count is the size of market you wnat to conquere, not the market youhave already conquer :P

#65
Mortadelo
0
Frags
+

As I said I don't wanna count if GDP, I wanna count in player base xD

And no, I do not just count the size of the market I want to conquer. If I'm a toy company I'm not targeting elderly people just because there's more than kids. That's just not how it works. There is a target audience and that is the people that care about your product, and how many people cares about you product is seen in the player base

If you wanna give the slot from Indonesia to Australia because they have a bigger GDP, go ahead but the game isn't gonna make it very far

#69
Anguibok
0
Frags

Count player base is not a good plan, esport is here to attire people not only to keep people you already have. If the player base in India is low, then you need to invest more. if you don't you fall in Survivorship bias x)

Bro they did open tryouts none of the players passed also what are they supposed to do? they are not a scouting agency they are an esports org! even the Org owner said fewer Indian players were interested then they thaught they only got 15-20 applications stop the bs now

#16
AKIRA1988

They hosted open tryouts allowing indian players to porve themselves. India does have the largest (depending on what data you use) population on earth. But only a very very small percentage of that population has access to good setups, is interested in valorant and has the time to practice enough to be good.

Na education moment

Dude people are literally like we are the most populated country we can surely produce good talent, dude the most populated thing u r talking abt less than 20% of the people has laptops and pcs and less than 4-5% has pcs and laptops capable of running valo and then u subract how many of those don't play valo, or aren't interested in vct

At this point, no one cares about GE. Riot should kick them out of the league. What's the point of keeping them in if they’re doing nothing for the Valorant scene in India? In fact they are killing it. Boom should get the slot instead. For the average Indian fan, it doesn’t matter if it’s GE or Boom neither has an Indian representative anyway.

KOI don't have spanish players : no one complain
TH don't have spanish players : no one complain
Vitatily don't have french players : no one complain

But somehow it's a problem when GE does not have indian players on their team? Sounds weird

#52

The Spanish and French eSports scenes are already well developed but in India it’s just starting and we need support. India needs heroes of its own. If GE doesn’t give opportunities to Indian players how are we ever going to have that? Look at DFM they go 0-10 every year yet they still give chances to their own players that's how they got meiy. Why can’t GE do the same? Isn’t it their responsibility to support the Indian scene? That’s the whole reason they got the slot in the first place.

#57
Dybala21

According to reports, some indian players that went to GE trials weren't playing well. So idk how GE can support if the players wasn't good enough

#67

Only 11 players from all over India applied for the GE open tryouts that's because everyone in the scene knows the GE owner has a bad reputation. He tends to favor foreign players and overlook Indian talent. Many believe the open tryouts were just for show allowing him to claim he gave everyone a fair chance though his intentions were never genuine.why People think indian talent=Rossi,lf ..they both has been with GE for the past five years and washed long back the org never gives opportunities to outsiders. and how can they conduct fair tryouts when players are competing with 10 ping vs 80?
