Madrid couldve been so different. TH were unlucky playing against Sentinels first and PRX second. Last Map against Sentinels on Bind was really close aswell and they had no international experience. In Shanghai they had an "easier" Swiss Stage and it was still pretty close against a strong FPX but they got better throughout the tournament. In Madrid Wo0t wasnt there and hes an absolute monster. They made some changes with Wo0t playing Jett and Iso with MiniBoo on the team. Imo he should play Raze aswell bc he looks insane with Raze and let MiniBoo play Yoru/Neon. They could play some double duelist comps like GENG on Breeze with that Yoru/Jett if that works and have a better map pool aswell.
Can you explain the potter one? Just curious.
Because every single player on EG that left has become worse this year
the one player who didn't leave EG is still playing very well
EG as a whole is on an upward trajectory, while the players who left EG are on a downward trajectory
Lastly, EG had a roster of people expected to play in T2 + jawg, and yet has won matches against decent teams
no i agree that potter is definitely good, she's a great antistratter and somehow manages to make teams coherent
i just don't like the narrative that she's the second coming of Christ and does no wrong, i can't think of specific instances instantly but still
it's almost as if potter is given so much credit that the players themselves (except jawg) are massively overlooked, idk that's what i think atleast
if she did no wrong, EG should've been at a better position than what they're at no? Whenever EG messes up anywhere it's the players' faults and the org being absolute garbage, and potter being dealt a bad hand with the player budget etc etc
but when EG wins potter is glazed to oblivion
but it just may be people being fans, i can't really shit on them for that
I think it's more that sometimes its obvious that they win because of antistrats, which potter is obviously in charge of. But its less obvious in the mid round when something bad happens, but it could be because potter told them too earlier. It's hard to tell what is potter's fault and what is the player's fault, and most people give potter the benefit of the doubt because of the reasons I listed above.
Yeah, I think the comparisons of coaches is a weird one and us viewers on the sidelines will never actually know. While coaches have lots of impact, there are lots of on the fly decision making that has to be made by the players themselves and it gets hard to discern what is credited to the coach vs player. On top of that Coaches are still part of team synergy so one coach might work better for one player than another, even if they are 'worse' on paper
PRX lack of a real leader/IGL is always going to cost them the most important games. Both Jingg and Something r insanely talented players, but without a proper leash they also become their teams greatest weakness. If you were to make a change to this roster I would swap one of them simply because no IGL is gonna be able to handle both of these monsters. (David and Mindfreak have rly good control, and forsaken while also kinda guilty of overheating sometimes is a insane flex that is kinda a one of kind player).
Boostio is the best player on 100T
Something isnt a top 5 duelist itw (maybe not even top 10)
Zekken isnt a top 3 duelist itw-maybe not even americas
Dreyeon is worse than Yay on Bleed
If DRX kept their roster from last year they would have won Madrid/Shanghai
If EG kept their roster they would have gone undefetead
If Optic kept their roster for 23 they probably would have won Lock//In but wouldnt have won Tokyo/Champs
