what are some teams that coming into this season your opinion of them ended up being completely wrong? i'll start
for me i thought mibr would be a top team since they had bzka who was 2022 loud coach so i thought that he would elevate the team to the point that they would be really good like potter did with building up eg this season.
i also thought that fnatics superteam would be the one to fail and liquids "superteam" would be the one to succeed but it ended up being reversed :p
Leviatan.
I had really high hopes for that roster especially after their performances in VCT 2022.
Leviatan had what I envisioned as a LATAM super team, they picked up all the "best" latam players from 2022 whilst keeping a strong core.
So much firepower with Kingg/keznit, smart acquisitions like getting nzr.
Shyy was a player I thought could really excel this year after breaking into the Leviatan first team in split 2 of 2022.
And they had Onur who I believed was a top coach.
GenG and T1. I expected both of them to be good enough to give the top teams in the pacific region a really good challenge. Also KOI, i expected a lot from a team with two fantastic players but i didnt expect the rest of the team to be so weak. I think i had most of the americas teams correctly rated since my pickems were flawless for the americas league regular season.
Btw, about T1: i know that they were good for most of the year but i expected them to be as good, if not better than DRX which is an extremely hot take. But i suppose i overhyped the players a bit too much.
talon for pacific, even before lock//in i thought that had a really solid core. of course they did well at lock//in but after that they fell apart.
liquid for emea, because who didn't think that they would be the best team in the region
americas i was pretty accurate except for furia who i thought would be amazing
i think the level of the valorant teams this year would be absurd with all of these insane rosters in the beggining of the season being revealed like navi leviatan, the fvcking liquid with nats and sayf, sentinels, kru, mibr...but seems like the teams of the last year are so much better than the actual year, i think just a few of 2023 teams would win against 2022 xset, fpx, paper rex, imagine against 2022 optic loud drx...
