the dueling dinosaurs paper releasing on halloween was lowk crazy, i was with people in my research group as we found out and the collective freak out was nice.

the dueling dinosaurs is a fossil found in 2006 of a small sized tyrannosaur and a triceratops locked in a fighting position, and the recent paper not only confirms that the tyrannosaur is 100% complete, which may be the most insane thing ive heard literally ever (for references, for fossils that lived during a similar time period, 60% is considered great already). until 2024 it was caught up in private collections (hate billionaire fossil collectors icky) and couldn't be studied.

the paper also confirmed the tyrannosaur was a species that had been debated as being a juvenile tyrannosaurus rex for years.

I hate touching on this sort of topic because it's just awful but I was actually interested in reading some of these. These articles (aside from the broken one) are an interesting look into basic human evolution but none of these form a base for why men would have an advantage over women in any physical capacity, only touching on human adaptations as a whole. Randomly referencing a paperback is interesting as well, I do think that you may have just linked the first few pages on a google scholar search as these aren't very relevant.

I'm going to word dump here but the assumption that it is genes that determine why we play sports is a decently far fetched inference as the closest any of these articles get to that is to say that the human ability to throw helps in sports (article 4), and that humans that exercise have a decent stamina for running (article 2).

On the other hand, some of these are wholly irrelevant (at least from what access I can get from my university account), which is unfortunate because I would have liked to see what they contained, article 3 is just on infanticide, the 5th link leads to a broken doi and the 6th is paywalled and leads to a book on a hunter gatherer society in tanzania.
