Im almost certain that 2024 champs zmjkk is the highest form we've ever seen a player be at. Maybe 2022 champs Aspas or 2024 Shanghai texture come close?

2022 Champs was Aspas their best player? Iirc, Pancada, Less, Sacy were better than him on that tournament
If you consider all tournaments, irrespective of the era, it's Tenz 2021 and it's not even close
However if you consider the opponents, we could debate names like KangKang, W00t, Aspas etc etc

stats wise yes, but aspas impact if you actually watched the games was insane

Aspas is always good impact wise as much as the trend is to call him a fraud just for existing

For whole event or for a series? For the whole event it's probably tenz in 2021 Reykjavik

i was just about to say that. he is the only player i can think of that dominated for most of a tournament after 2022 (because the quality of gameplay jumped a lot later into the game)

woot had a fall off during the grand finals though, going -18 in the GF. zmjjkk played well in every match even in their loss against G2

Always wondered where all this 2022 champs aspas delusion comes from, he wasn’t even top 3 in his own team

he's considered the MVP because the analysts and people who watched the tournament back then voted for him as the MVP, so officially the MVP for Riot was Aspas. The pANcada MVP was a spike.gg award that picked highest rated player from the team that won, but its not official

if we are counting no matter what era then for sure its tenz 2021, but tbf that was plumber era val so if we dont count that then its champs 22 yay

that man took an fns, an off form marved, victor and crashies playing mid and solo carried the entire team to a gf, probably should have won bind if not for the aspas 1v4 or ascent if not for the crashies classic and should have been a 2-2 in the grand final

Honestly, champs 2022 yay gets so overlooked because he lost the finals but to me that’s easily the best form at an international

Single match? Kk 2024 finals, followed by 2023 champs lower finals demon1

Reykjavik tenz was easily the best of all time when you compare it to the competition, but said competition was really bad and we’re talking about personal level

For me it goes

2022 champs yay, Shangai meteor (>>>texture), lock in leo, tokyo alfajer

in my opinion it matters to me a lot the importance of showing up when its desperately the most important. after doing more research its between champs zmjjkk, 2022 champs yay, Shanghai meteor, and lock in Leo.

the amount of first kills KK had was just absurd and I think in an era and year defined by general team strength rather than star player performances it was extra impressive that he was able to excel so much when it mattered the most. Stats are very important I agree, but the context behind his rating and his first contacts is absurd. To keep a high rating and KD while also keeping his first contacts double digits is insanity really.

w take, people don't get how difficult going +30 in a GF is when you took 52 FIRST FIGHTS. The fact he won half of those is just ridiculous too, we've never seen an entry player perform at that high of a level before.

Can be, kk is prob the best space creator itw so yeah his form is defined by a lot more than just kills

I’ll admit i only watched some 3 edg matches in champs and in all i thought him otherwordly, so you might be right

I like KK, but seriously? that is probably not even be in the top 10 of best international performances. hell, his tokyo form might have even been better than his 2024 champs form.

this is the most insane take of this thread. Brodie he had a 6 game spree of dropping +10 first kills, have more than 15 first kills of the 2nd most FK (miniboo) without going to lowers, and dropped the most amount of kills at the biggest event In the games history when it mattered most. Are we geeked???

His grand finals performance was absolutely dominant, and huge props for showing up when it mattered most. But outside of the grand finals he had a great tournament performance, and I feel like there are other players with more elite performances throughout an entire tournament.
