DRX is incredibly lucky that they have 2 of the 3 worst teams at the tournament in their group. If they had group B they would struggle to win a map.

DRX is literally the most overrated team of all time because they beat 100 Korean immortal 5 stacks in a row all the way back in 2020. Everyone will trip over themselves rushing to pretend like they had to play the literal gods of valorant in every single international tournament that they bombed out of when in reality theyre just not that good
Don't know why people soyface so hard over this team, they wont make it past first round of playoffs although they will make it out of groups because once again they got handed a free group with Zeta and NIP
Berlin -> PRX and SMB in their group, both literally dogshit
Champs -> FS who were terrible, C9 who are mediocre at best and FNC who are decent but nothing special, still couldnt make it

The Worst Region :BR and NA
BR: 2 team in master and champion, but never advance to playoff.
NA: 3 team in champion but only C9 qualifed to playoff.
zeta had a lot of roster changes so those results literally don't matter but ok

drx vs with zest back in rotation as their sova (which they desperately lacked and needed at berlin) have a really good chance at winning the whole thing. Putting Rb on skye/sova was weird as f, and w/o Zest on sova, they just didnt look nearly as clean on executions/retakes without him. Putting Rb on skye/sova was also not a great choice.
people will finally stop thinking korea (or at least VS) as a weak region after their run this time around. VS has had some of the best team chemistry, and all their players are so consistent mechanically, and its been that way for a long time. They got unlucky with meta changes, and adapted to meta too late and lost their chance at iceland first time around, and they just didnt look like the same VS that ive been following since 2020 at berlin with the new lineup since they were missing some of the most important in-game voices (glow and zest) that helped control the flow of rounds.

it's all good. i respect your opinion, and i'm not here to change anyones mind. i watch most of the regions play, and have an extensive fps competitive background. i think any former pro cs 1.6 players that are either still playing or in a coaching/analyst position will agree that VS is a scary team, and definitely a team that doesnt get the credit or recognition they deserve.
people dont realize that KR was considered a S tier region for CS at a time. weMADEfox took the international scene by storm with multiple 1st place to top 3 finshes at interntional lans while NA couldnt even get out of groups or win an international match for years since CPL 2005 or something. I see the same arguments and reasons repeated and recycled by people who never played competitively, and often just regurgitate the same opinions of other backseat analysts who also have zero competitive experience and only watch NA. I'm not saying you're one of them, but to still think DRX VS is not even likely to get out of groups is pretty wild.

ZETA's coordination is not very good. DRX was on point today.
I find it crazy that Japan still gets a spot at LAN events after consistent poor showings. Its sad because a deserving team( Either a 3rd NA team or if they want to stay in the region then a 3rd APAC team) could be playing here but we get to see a tier 2 team.
Watching Japan play just makes my heart break. I just wish I knew why they're struggling so much out of all the regions. Hope they can come back stronger.

Icebox: Zeta talented team but they can't seem to close out a round? Numerous chances with 1-3 man advantage just shut down by DRX. Mako ego swings tube and gets 2 entrying as viper? Gamble stacking occurs way too much even if they are on eco's. No chamber means that flank is relatively open and will most likely be held by only one player. Giving up site and playing retake pretty regularly fucked zeta due to double lineups from sova and viper. On pistol round planting on nest when they can clearly see DRX has a sage quite questionable?
Haven: Zeta wins pistol round off an amazing performance from Laz. DRX gets the plant down and kills 4. DRX is known as the team that buys second if they get plant down, however, Zeta seems rather unaware and plays the round pretty awfully getting flawlessed? Again on Haven they seem to play quite passive letting DRX getting away with their executes and after that it's pretty much unwinnable cause of killjoy, sova combo with omen oneway like wtf do Zeta think they can do?
Overall: Zeta plays way too passive and need to play for more map control. Without implementing this strategy against a team like DRX it is pretty much impossible for Zeta to retake due to the extensive post plant setups. Definitely a game where Zeta could have gotten a lot more rounds. This is just my two cents.
Japan doesn't deserve the slot to defeating the team that upset them.....shesssshshshsh
