they said that both masters 1 and the kick-off league thing will be double elim.. so not really a full league season.
i have no clue how the fuck they plan to do double elim with 11 teams. the only thing that comes to mind is the mixed elimination that they used for lcq, but that seems stupid because:
a) seeding teams based on last season is terrible + the teams from ascension would automatically have the worst seed
b) that would essentially make the tournament a single elim for half of the teams
tbh i wouldn't be surprised if they just couldn't be bothered considering the level of the invited teams (besides drx). afaik they haven't announced the prizepool yet, so...

even if TGRD were financially unstable (they ain't), that "rule" only applies to partnered teams, not the ones that qualify thru ascension. + i'm pretty sure that the ascension spot would belong to the org, not the squad, so g2 would have to buy out not only the squad, but also the spot, and i'm sure riot would have some regulations on that meaning there would be a super hefty pricetag

The disparity especially in NE is crazy. Apeks is the favorite to win all of Ascension, but all the other teams apart from Fokus are fucking dogshit... shit half of them disband every split
