I believe any player can change their mental and decision taking, altho he's not a prodigy, he's just a top ranked player rn.
Take for example: s1mple (Not making a comparison between them but just to make a point), he made a 180 change from the toxic fragger from HellRaisers and Liquid to the 2019 NaVi star. It's a long way to go for any player but it only takes dedication.
Zander is already a top contender for one of the best sentinel players this year (according to the community). I personally don't have high expectations for V1 but if the rosters fails to qualify for major events I'm sure he can move to a better roster (100t Zander 2nd half of 2022? too early to say but who knows).
Hoody has already proven to be one of the best flex players in EU, even tho he didn't qualified for masters Giants was definitely the best team of the LVP Rising Series and he put a lot of effort to make that happen. He improved a lot and he's surely getting better with the support of G2 to start this year.
I have literally zero info, but I expect them to be running something like:
chiwawa -> jett
elllement -> flex
moe40 -> sova
patitek/ozzy -> controller
ozzy/patitek -> sentinel/viper
Unless they wanna take elllement out of the flex role so patitek can run second duelist/flash agent, but I don't see elllement flexing his agent pool like that, while patitek been playing the controller role for quite some time
I would prefer something like:
Chiwawa - Sentinel
elllement - Jett (or Second Duelist)
Moe40 - Sova
Patitek - Flex, Second Duelist (or Jett)
Ozzy - Controller, Sage?
I know Chiwawa back on sentinel is pretty controversial bc he's a Cypher one-trick but I believe he's had enough time to play the other agents and master them. It's not as hard to be an efficient Killjoy comparing it to a Sova or Viper, and now that Chamber is in the agent pool maybe he could surprise with the agent.
About elllement and Patitek, I've seen elllement play the Jett for the first time a time ago and he's kinda good with it, enough time has passed for him to make it viable for him. Pati is just different on Reyna and we're yet to see him on Skye or Sage (not really believing on the Sage, that's why I would give it to Ozzy).
Ofc MONSTEERR's got the potential, he's young and I've seen him grinding the game a lot in the las time, I just said that it won't work if he keeps playing on the same level as he was in that desastrous attempt of a roster. I really believe he can improve a lot and make the difference for the roster.
Great reads, did you use Minitab or something to do all the analysis? I'm also curious about the statistics you developed. It would be interesting to see how one could utlize and manipulate the stats that vlr.gg gives us to create our own efficiency/impact stats like they have for the MLB, NBA, etc...
For example, it would probably require some linear algebra (in addition to the regular stats) but with Valorant even the head-to-head matchups could be taken into account as we actually get to see results of these direct match-ups unlike in any other sport. Would be interesting to see how players' weights and averages are affected depending on the opponent classification (i.e PACE) or by the individual.
