I didn't even realize the crowd were booing the Fnatic players during their walkout

Most satisfying end to a VCT final ever and probably the most underrated achievement in VCT history as well

The crowd got what they deserved that day

thats how a crowd should be
that shows loyalty on their part, better than these boring home crowds right now. also why stuff like APAC ascension where boom lost was entertaining, despite that, cuz home crowd was insane

Not saying it shouldn't but that makes the win and the comeback even more incredible
To do it such an atmosphere can not be underestimated at all

I don't really support any of the french orgs but man give me as many of them as possible at Champs this year since the crowd will go crazy for them!

Vitality should be at least one that makes it and they've got a French player now which makes it even better but the KC and even G8 fans would go way crazier I feel but yeah if VIT is the only French org they would get most of the fans anyways.

FNC turned that shi into an actual library. It was so satisfying to watch.
Also i think JP/Americas crowd is better for internationals.

So far no. But paris might be crazy.
Madrid/Reykjavik was kinda underwhelming. Tokyo and Bangkok had insane crowds.

read what he said. "so far no"

then he mentions the fact that he has high hopes for Paris going to be crazy, and bases off the fact that Madrid and Reykjavik was underwhelming.

also CS >>> VAL in terms of EU viewership and fanbases + riot-based game obviously less unhinged and more moderated than cs events

you are comparing apples to watermelons atp

tf u mean reykjavik when they were held during covid and no crowd? the crowd in madrid during finals were crazy good too i suggest u checking out.

whats unhinged and unmoderated about CS events again? obviously apart from gambling cuz soon riot is also adding betting sponsors too

#54

"0 ball knowledge"
and does not even know masters was held in Reykjavik twice.
The one where Optic won had a full crowd.
So far EU does not have the best crowd but not the worst either.

so we're just going to ignore every other match in Madrid other than the finals?

CS events are known to foster the uncouth-yet-couth vibe and are characterized by the franchises' deep roots and extremely loyal fanbases, some for over 15 years, which is 3x of what VALORANT stands as.

You ever see that one clip of the trumpet dude in? I'll link it for ya :D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uQYeXjkKMg

just search up a whole ass drum session they had in the stands in IEM Rio as well

meanwhile in VALORANT, you can't even think of doing that (and I'm also pretty sure Riot-sanctioned events ban all sorts of things, and most definitely instruments of any sort)

to answer what's unhinged/unmoderated, just look at the fucking casters??? they have way more leeway and freedom to say certain phrases/topics, and mess around in general. whether its making a joke out of p*rn or openly cursing out a team, you have it all.

also ts happens constantly: https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1fnj5wc/maj3rs_response_to_blade_concerning_crowd_cheating/

so I hope this is enough evidence to make you reconsider what you're saying

the crowds were very loud whenever sen ,TH, prx, KC played. almost entirety of playoffs the crowd was loud. just cuz riot games is just an indie company with so much sensitiveness and very much snowflaky about things and they feel to need censor every single shit, it cant be helped. thats exactly the reason why CS has always been entertaining globally and will continue to be. and yes i am the one who mentioned paris major so i obviously know that clip.

Plus, ur hindsight is damn crazy. Like the reddit thread u linked is fckin bs. like ts doesnt happen in valorant is what ur telling me? LMAOOOO ok buddy. There are countless tweets from vct pros complaining this shit in multiple intl events. just cuz something is unhinged to you doesnt mean its the same for everyone.

i'd rather have cultural crowds rather crowds filled with NPCs. One more thing, u said about casters having leeway and freedom and val casters getting moderated? and u think its a bad thing? if thats the case, my god i dont know how many people are not letting the beans get spilled cuz we get to see shit like this get exposed.
https://x.com/ScrawnyCG/status/1903898506814701697

moderation is 50% good and 50% bad at the same time. these cs casters still get moderated but if they do heavy moderation like in val then its bad sign

Iirc locking was in brazil (americas)

I think you'll find the most diversity in fans at a U.S. and/or Chinese arena. Not sure if it will be like that in the future though

of course they are gonna support their local team, its the most popular team in Brazil playing in the grand final in sao paulo, but yeah booing is kinda cringe

One of the coolest moments in my esports career was thousands of Brazilian fans shouting “You’re going to die” in Portuguese and literally shaking the earth beneath us before the Final started. Will never forget that, most intense crowd we’ve ever played in front of.

I would say it’s the most intense / most traditional sports event I’ve ever been to. But I’d say Tokyo was up there too because we were the home team there and their fans are so nice and supportive of us. Basically the difference between playing away at a huge rival or playing at home in front of your fans - both are amazing for different reasons.

Comparing LOUD's home crowd who were booing Fnatic the whole time and shaking the whole arena whenever loud got a round vs Fnatic getting slightly supported in LA (mind u there were loud fans in the arena too) is shit comparison. sorry to break it to u.

plus never thought someone could get so much pressed over using slangs xd

Least deluded brazillian:

#37
glittering_yard
-2
Frags

Even Saadhak said at that time that it didnt felt like they were representing Americas because the great majority of the crowd was always cheering for LOUD's oponents. Against DRX ( South Korea ) they were cheering for DRX, against NAVI (Ukraine) they were cheering for NAVI, same with Fnatic and PRX.

He was not complaining about it because people can cheer for whoever they want, but this "Los Angeles was cheering for Americas" claim is straight up wrong.

#52
Er3ngenes1s
1

they were still repping americas. it wasnt like 2021 or 22 like they were repping brazil or sumin

#53

NONE in NA were rooting for fnatic for blud. they were rooting for americas

I know LOUD was representing Americas. But you said that no one in NA was rooting for fnatic, which is just wrong as even the players like Saadhak, Less and Aspas talked about how they were NEVER the crowd favorites in Los Angeles no matter who they played against, even tho they won VCT Americas that year

#58
Er3ngenes1s
-1
Frags

that is just projection at this point. there are people rooting for both teams but neither of em were favorites. Plus give me one reason why NA fans would support an EU team instead of supporting an americas team?

#60
glittering_yard
1
Frags
+

I dont know the reason, thats just what the LOUD core that played in Los Angeles said about the NA crowd, they were not complaining, just stating that there was no feeling of belonging and unity to the "Americas" region

Here is just one example, aspas (Americas MVP) vs Rb (South Korean player) in Champions Los Angeles:

Looking back, it's a bit sad that we're never going to reach the level of cinema that was FNC vs LOUD in Brazil. It's the passion from the fans that made that game even more special and fun to watch. Yeah, walking out after FNC won was super disrespectful to the players but if you don't like hearing a crowd that hyped to support a team do you even like competitive gaming or sports at all? It must've been an unforgettable experience for the players.
