There’s no debate to start with.

aspas is HIM. The man won champions in 2022 with loud and could have just kept winning, farming trophies. But NO—he wanted a challenge for himself.

Instead of taking the easy route, he left LOUD and went to Lev, taking them to the top ( could have won but had shortcomings cuz of his teammates). Now he’s at MIBR, and about to dominate the scene with T2 players. Wherever aspas goes, the team becomes relevant.

He single-handedly raises the value of any roster he joins. LOUD was never the same after he left, Lev became a real threat when he was there, and now MIBR is on the come-up. At this point, he’s not just a top player he’s the goat.
Argue with the stats. I’ll wait.

Yeah, MVP means a lot… if you’re trying to prove something. Aspas doesn’t need validation from an MVP title when he’s literally the backbone of every team he joins. Zeek, pancada, and demon1 had their MVP runs, but where are they now? Aspas has been at the top since 2022, still making teams relevant.

I think Aspas is the most complete player in this debate so far, in terms of impact, individual performance, team performance, consistency at the highest level over the years, adapting to every meta, etc...

the thing about the Fnatic players is that they have never won the Champions trophy, and I think winning the biggest trophy of the game should be a minimum requirement to be considered the GOAT of the game. (Faker 5 Worlds, s1mple only was crowned the goat when he won the Major, and he only has 1, before that he was "s0mple" etc..)

Also I think that the GOAT of Valorant will be the greatest DUELIST of all time, as its the most popular role, most competitive role to standout as a player due to high competition, and the role people likes to watch the most, similar to the midlane in LOL( the greatest midlaner OAT is also the GOAT of the game)

Other Duelists that could be in the debate would be Derke and KangKang. But Derke was kinda overshadowed by Fnatic fantastic four and his consistency had a lower level than aspas, and KangKang needs to keep it up this year and the next year, to prove that he wasnt just a 1 tournament/ 1 season wonder like yay, demon1, etc...

No, that is not true about LOL. Midlane just happens to have Faker which is the best player. Faker isnt the best player because he plays midlane. Other potential goats people talk about Are mainly top or jungle players. Such as Bin or Zeus. If you exclude Faker, the average most paid and sought after role in the game is Jungle.

KangKang needs to keep it up this year and the next year, to prove that he wasnt just a 1 tournament/ 1 season wonder like yay, demon1, etc...

Both KK and yay were good for at least 2 years, and they are both MVP winners unlike aspas.

Aspas could be the goat, but the most obvious answer rn is chronicle as he holds the most trophies, with multiple years of success, on a multitude of teams. But even then I wouldnt call chronicle the goat, he is just the most fitting one if we HAD to choose

What I wrote about biggest trophy, I was talking about best performers at the biggest stage there is in the game. Faker was always THE guy at WORLDS. Yes, Aspas "only" has 1 major, but he qualified to 3 Champions events since he started, and reached minimum top 3 finishes three times in a row with 3 different rosters and speaking 2 different languages. Yes, Chronicles has the most trophies but none of them are Champions trophies, thats why a mentioned the s1mple example above.

The Aspas vs Chronicle head to head(if we care) also doesnt really help Chron, they played 3 series against each other and the numbers were like:
Aspas +5
Chronicle -11

Aspas +13
Chronicle -15

Aspas +20
Chronicle -22

You can say that he's a support player but these series happened in Fnatics best year, when Chronicle won 2 trophies, but was like the third or fourth best player on the team, thats not a greatest of all time material imo in terms of individual performance and cultural impact, Leo, Derke and Alfa were more memorable.

When I wrote about most popular role, I was implying that it is harder to be the best duelist in world, than being the best flex, best initiator, best controller, because its the most played role in the game even at the professional level. Many duelists switch roles just to stay in franchise because they dont have space against the top duelists. the Duelist and Midlane comparison I made reflects that, especially at the spectator POV with esports as an entertainment.

The MVP thing, Aspas was not full tournament MVP, but was awarded Champs GF MVP. But there is many MVP's in valorant that never were really able to replicate their best tournament runs. Usually in these GOAT debates, what prevails overtime is the consistency.

I understand If you HAD to choose a GOAT for the game right now Chronicle is a good option. I personally believe that Aspas is a better option. (sorry for any english mistakes, not my first language)
