exactly, swerl is an amazing player and GuanG has been fine on senti, and still played vyse quite a bit. Those two are the main fraggers for the team and they werent awful in kickoff. letting go of swerl seems weird especially since OBONE was awful in 2024

• Haodong was very bad in 2024, his intiator utility was dogshit, even the top 5 worse in a very weak chinese league, Haodong was nearly a bottom player at every international event, and his calls were horrid. They changed him for S1Mon who has some of the best utility in the world. its not minor at all.
• Nobody was also made IGL, which completely transformed him as a player, EDG's macro improved immensely quickly and Nobody ran it down a lot less, especially in champs
• EDG's coaching staff got changed as well. The antistrats brought together by the coaching stuff was far superior than what AfteR ever did and EDG no longer struggled as a team identity. (Just a reminder this team had KK playing smokes and intiator, Haodong playing smokes, intiator and sentinel, Smoggy playing every role in the game, Chichoo also flexing around a bit, just praying something would stick)

EDG won champs because their individuals AND good macro, its impossible to fucking havw 100% winrate on 3 maps if you didnt have the best macro on them. it goes to show you didnt watch champs with ur eyes open or your brain working. If aim was all edg needed then they shouldve been more dominant on more maps. Also you havent been able to fluke a champions win with just mechanics since 2023 arguably even earlier, teams just arent that bad anymore. also also they failed to do anything at internationals before was due to having an different team

heybay has top 5 util in cn, 2nd best igl in cn, and his aim is good for an igl. When biank igl'ed for BLG it was flat as fuck, heybay has by far the most dynamic calling in cn, replacing him is a huge mistake

you are considering map pool way to much. Trace literally only need to worry to play 1 map their bad at. and their macro compared to the 2nd seeds is definitely better on those other maps

because trace looked better than EDG throughout the tournament, even in the grandfinal, trace played a more beautiful game while EDG had huge individual moments. The only real weakness trace has is that they have a weak map pool, and lack of experience (which didnt stop them from winning two games straight). its not like champs where trace can only win 2 maps. I think every team is relatively close hence the grandfinals for all the regions being close but trace on a macro level looks better, more consistently than t1, liquid or sen.

Trace overall played a much better game than EDG did throughout the entirety of kickoff. Trace was even favoured in the grandfinals playing a cleaner game, imo EDG really just had individuals turn up at the right moments to win that Grandfinal.
I will say, I favour EDG to win any grandfinal over trace as they have a dogshit map pool
