You first argument is no sense, guns or not, if someone is going to commit a crime, the gun doesnt matter, he wants that.
The second one can be refuted, Indonésia has allmost the same population as USA, and them homicide rate is allmost 10x lower.
And yes, every part of the world has his dangerous places, some more than others.

(OBS: About, every country can afford to buy a guy, its all about burocracy, USA has allmost no burocracy to buy and sell a gun, thats why its cheap.
