Ok - if you can agree that S1mon helped the rest of EDG adjust to roles they were more fitted for after replacing Haodong then you aren't the people I'm talking about. I am not implying you have a personal problem with him, I interpreted your message as saying that S1mon was not as important to the team as people say - which I would argue against. It doesn't matter if Kayo/Breach is out of meta - S1mon is an adaptable player. I've been watching since FGC bro ofc I love EDG too. (I'm wearing FPX cause BerLIN)
However, I'm very frustrated that people brush off s1mon as if he wasn't A (key word A NOT the) foundational reason why EDG hit such a good stride for 2 INT tournaments. I said this as soon as he left, people will keep downvoting me and call me a hater, yet now people are finally starting to agree that the once temporarily invincible EDG WILL struggle for a bit of time without him. When everyone is readjusting identities on EDG, ofc the team is going to play worse - it looks like you agree with that too.
I am not claiming that EDG cannot reach the same level it had last year ever again, they were able to consistently place top 5-6 without s1mon and the core 4 are very good players I've kept up with for a long time. I'm just saying that an adjustment period following S1mon leaving is inevitable, because he was one of the biggest reasons why EDG became much more methodical and peaked. (unless their replacement for S1mon was literally Chinese Leo - but clearly that's not the case)
To elaborate on it before more people misinterpret me, I personally believe S1mon helped a lot not necessarily because he's the greatest util player of all time, but because he's willing to play the roles that the rest of EDG isn't the most comfortable on.

What do you think the strengths were from 2022-2024 before S1mon, and why do you think they are struggling now in 2025 without him?
How would you fix it?
My only problem with some EDG fans is that they will use any and everything to justify somehow that the team has become miraculously better without S1mon. Yet ironically I feel like most of these people never watched them early on and saw the problems they had that were fixed by S1mon.
The team is worse without S1mon, plain and simple -> FOR NOW.
I'm confident they will improve with time.
And yet i get hate for saying the obvious.
If I managed EDG, I would kick out S1mon too - we can't have internal problems - that will be a problem in the long term.
However, is it not possible to also admit he was needed to win champs?
If EDG place Top 4 at Champs you can come back and make fun of me, I'll accept my loss.

Idk abt that one dawg but if u mean it in the context of missing a chance to be a good person I understand.
Yeah sometimes we don’t get 2nd chances for these quick social interactions, so just be aware in the future. I’ve missed chances to help people before, and I guarantee you that every time I’ve come back and helped, or just didn’t hesitate from the beginning it’s always made both parties feel better.
So failing just keeps you more alert to not miss these chances in the future.

EDG have the things you listed due to losing a great player that was fundamental for the 2024 champs run.
S1mon’s utility was very good and set up the rest of EDG (who also all peaked at the right time)
This is from someone who’s watched them during FGC and their first ever LCQ run in East Asia (majestic).
Right now they unfortunately aren’t the same as their peak, but from what I’ve seen the environment that was created was both toxic for S1mon and the rest of the EDG core. I think it’s best they split up - at least for now? + even if it was a bad choice it’s always been done so we can’t really do anything.
I’m pretty confident that EDG will find someone to fill the hole that Simon left. Don’t forget they were still able to place T6 multiple times at internationals without S1mon - and they’ve been through thick and thin together,
I agree with the sentiment that S1mon was vital for the 2024 run, however I also think there is a misconception that the team as a whole cannot win without him. The entire team had been improving that year - and 1-2 bad tournament performances doesn’t imply that the team isn’t improving.
(Speaking from a competitor’s perspective, often times we will not perform to the expected level at a tournament, but there are many more variables than a lack of improvement)
I believe EDG’s core - which has been very consistent - will bounce back once this void of a utility player is filled/some alternative.
For S1mon, I don’t know the details to an extremely deep level, so I don’t want to judge his actions.
However, I think he’s a great player who will help the next team he joins reach new heights.
Idk what’s so hard about appreciating the greatness of both S1mon and the EDG core.
I’m not angry because :
1st - I’m not para social, and I don’t live through EDG winning or losing.
2nd - I’m confident that EDG will bounce back eventually. Remember that everyone doubted EDG in 2024 until the very end.
3rd - I’d rather this legendary team be split up than forced into a toxic environment where both sides are unable to understand eachother’s perspective.
I think in about 1-2 years the team will have fully rebounded by then.
(Or split up oops - let’s hope that doesn’t happen)
I mean I see what you mean from an overall standpoint, but if that was the case then the entire list that this guy proposed is wrong because americas and EMEA dominated early valorant.
If we're going off of recency bias then I think his list is mostly fine.
China's best team at every tournament recently has generally done well compared to the Americas, even claiming a trophy at Champs last year if that counts.
And if we're talking about insane recency bias, then duh it'd be 1 - PRX, 2 - FNC, 3 - WOL, and 4 - G2

There's a reason why Americas is ranked higher than China on an overall basis.
However, if we're talking about the top team at the current moment - then mada's original list seems fine to me, especially if we take into account insane recency bias (which most of vlr follows).
I will say this though, I think Americas is just at an unusual slump right now, and its best representative will do extremely well at Champs.
