Faker is such a big part of League, he is such a major attractor for sponsors and viewers. If we get a player like Faker for Valorant this shit is gonna last 10+ years (if Rito don't fuck it up) but sadly I don't think we will have a player like him.

Only issue is that I doubt the player can be European. LoL is so huge in Korea that it has also helped a lot to make him the guy he is and he has been really relevant for Chinese as well, because of how close LPL and LCK are. In Valorant the player would have to be from NA or maybe China most likely. I doubt EU player could make their name as Faker of Valorant no matter how good they were. In CS its possible because EU is the biggest region.

I mean we do, players like faker in LoL is what keeps the league highly interesting, we are extremely far from getting a faker as it's just year 4, plus Americans are lazy ass tho they are crazy good here in valo, so it's gotta be china or korea it has been someone who is unfazed by consecutive loses as well as money.

Definitely a big contender - international record holder, vct champs mvp, he's the face of a team which itself is the face of Chinese Valorant, and he's a super likable character on the stage and on streams.

I would argue that he's already the Faker of Val.. in China. But, if he/EDG can keep performing at such a high level, I wouldn't be surprised to see him become known as the undisputed goat of VCT worldwide.

I disagree since League has also had many changing metas and the enemy can literally target ban your best champions and perma dive snowball you. If Faker can do it I'm sure someone in Valorant can do it

League is way less competitive than valo tho. Eastern team not making top 8 is somewhat of a upset in worlds when there are 8 eastern slots. At this rate of how competitive valo is it's way harder for a faker to happen. Also val needs to last as long as league too.

Lmao League is definitely not less competitive than Valo. Other regions being shit at League is their problem, it's not a League problem. Eastern teams are simply better. What do you want the other regions to do? Take drugs?

Valorant is literally going to be the same in a few years. China won their first champs in their 2nd year in Valorant (counting from when Valorant was officially released in China, which is 2023). Meanwhile a Korean team almost dominated the entire year. What do you think is going to happen in a few years? League was also pretty diverse during the beginning. History will repeat itself.

Yeah let's actually wait and see how valo turns out but at this rate it's not becoming league anytime soon. Also valo is indeed more competitive. How is league more competitive when every single worlds the compensation is between eastern teams alone and between 3-4 teams too. Also other regions being shit simply makes it less competitive lol.

What LoL does so well is build profiles for their players. The fanbase knows the personality of the top players, the orgs (and even Riot) support it by showing personal storylines and doing content which really resonates with people.
As for Val I think it's quite rare unless you're at the very top (and even then there's some players you don't know much about)

Think of Chronicle for example, he's the most accomplished player so far, yet people know pretty much nothing about him or his personality.
It's regional too, outside of Turkey not many people know much about cNed, or Aspas outside of Brazil. Sure you know who they are as a player, but not as a person, which is super important in creating a 'faker status' imo.

If you look at it from a results standpoint I think winning multiple Champs is much, much harder in Val, maybe it will get easier as the game gets older but right now the meta is changing too fast

Nothing much you can do when your Champs winning rosters end up disbanding
In LoL, most orgs try their best to keep their Worlds winning rosters together for as long as possible, which results in players with massive legacies like Faker
I swear if LOUD kept their 2022 roster for 2023, they would have won back to back Champs 100%
