Are cheaters an issue?

Hey everyone! So, I'm looking into a few things for a piece I am writing about cheaters in VALORANT and I wanted to get the community sentiment.

Do you think cheaters are an issue? Is it a GROWING issue? How many cheaters have you encountered?

never encountered a cheater in my life (in valorant that is)

I have encountered a total of 0 cheaters in my 1.5 years of playing valorant. Better than csjoe 💀 fr

I must have high trust factor or something but I do not recall ever playing against a cheater
But I am in low elo so...

I have played the game since beta and have peaked immortal
I only encountered a cheater ONCE in my entire lifetime and it was back in 2020 closed beta so I don't think they're much of an issue (atleast at the highest ranks of my server)

there's never been a cheater in my valorant lobbies that hasn't been banned midgame and the game reset without penalty.

Only encountered cheaters when I was silver (NA Virginia) and that was only 2-3 times in ranked. They all got banned during those games or within the hour after

Only had a cheater once in a game, and they got banned in the match, so I dont think cheaters are Riot's main issue with ranked.

i think there are more cheaters in higher elo (met 2 cheaters on the same day, both games got red screen'd)

honestly i’ve ran into maybe 1 person that i knew was cheating in radiant ranked, but the issue is all the cheaters who make it there hide them well, so you never really know who’s cheating. Riot does a good job at stopping casual cheating, but ive known people who i thought were legit that cheated for 2+ years before banned, either way you never run into someone blatant ever in the higher ranks or it’s an instant ban most of the time because manual review/streamers in lobby

Valorant’s anticheat is very strong, I’ve only encountered two blatant ones and both have been banned during the match

not really, in EU low immo lobbies i almost never encountered any and if i did they usually get banned mid match

I have encountered a cheater few months ago. The match is terminated after I reported him.

never encountered one+ they eventually get banned+ smurfs in valo are a bigger pain in ass than cheaters coz smurfs can't be banned and they always fuck up my ranked games.

Only one cheater (blatant) in 5 stack lobbies (clearly boosting teammates). Got banned shortly after though. On Twitter I've heard some complaints of cheating here and there, mostly by ultra high elo (300rr+) players. In VALORANT, I wouldn't say cheating is an issue. At least nowhere near in comparison to other games.

One feature they could definitely add is an elo rollback system, where if you vsed a cheater and lost, you would get your elo refunded back to you.

Played against 2 of them and had 1 on my team in my entire valorant playing career since closed beta, it’s not an issue at all

encountered 1 cheater, my teammates, he used reyna, i was in silver that time, i think he use auto aim, he pre aim in body but somehow when enemy come the croshair instanly go to enemy head.

We were 4 friends in a lobby looking for a fifth then one of my friend asked his discord friend to join. He was playing sage, he said "I just came across these new hacks and I am going to use in this game", at first we thought he was joking but after 4th or 5th round he streamed on discord and showed his wall hacks. Before I even switched back tabs to open the game the game had ended and he was banned lol. He later told us he played one more game on different account(this time without the cheats on) and still got ip banned mid game.

Yes but it's way better than CS. They either are terminated if blatant, and even if suspicious you stand a good chance at winning. Typically they might try to keep their HS around 40 mid ELO (asc/dia). In Imm it's hard to fake it.

Rito also has yet to ban known hackers like Alfajer (aimlock), Leo (known waller since 2015), Derke (movement script), Chronicle (awareness hack), Boaster (headphone backdoor software).

after playing this game for 2 years I've encountered exactly two cheaters, both in diamond/asc elo, and none between bronze-plat where i started. so honestly, as much as we rag on rito vanguard for being basically malware, it's worked.

that being said, my point of comparison is pre-prime csgo, where even in nova/mg (where i usually hovered) you ran into the occasional spinbot -- hell, i have a vivid memory of a teammate being banned live even when i was in the trenches of silver

I have been playing since act 2 and i play way too much every day and ive encountered 3 cheaters ever

Ever since episode 1, I haven't encountered a cheater in my playtime, both in my LATAM account and my NA account.

I have only encountered 1 cheater in over a year of playing and it was pretty obvious he was simply because he seemed a little too aware with the call-outs and possibilities of where the opponents could be.

i only had the cheater banned screen once and i still dont know who cheated in that game noone was extremely good or anything

I had the red screen two times while i was playing, but this was like mid-2021.

I've ran into two cheaters ever and the game was cancelled both times

Only encountered one few weeks ago, he got banned suddenly 🗿 maybe encountered some before but they weren't ban

Riot is good at banning cheats unlike cheat strike🗿

In all that I've been playing I've encountered 2 cheaters and they were banned

late response but i had this one week where i ran into 3 cheaters, all were walling and super obvious ab it
one would only wall through smokes but he'd kill anyone in a smoke w a headshot instantly 100% of the time

I've found only one cheater in those 2 years, and he got immediatly banned, he rushed everyone with a Guardian and did a 5k every round.

I guess Valorant anti cheat is simply insane, differently from other games that i've played before

-In my 3 years of playing the game, I've encountered 6 cheaters;

-All of them got banned (I think, I know for sure 4 of them did), 3 of them mid match;

-Although 6 is a really low number (astonishing low to be completely fair), out of the 6 cheaters, 4 of those were in the span of the last 7/8 months;

-For me, they "come in pairs", and by that I mean that, every single time I would get a cheater, another one would appear in the same day. Either the game right after or a few in between.

To sum it up, Valorant does a really good job at preventing, detecting and stopping cheaters from becoming an actual problem and is the least of my problems regarding the game.

One of the rare things Riot can do neatly is to quickly ban cheaters.

i encountered only 1 cheater in my 1.5 yrs of playing...but in fricking SPIKE RUSH lmao..match terminated just before we were about to lose xD

I got the cheater banned message once in 3 years 1k+ hrs, but didn't even notice who it was in the lobby, was very early in the game.

I've been playing for about 3 episodes, I am currently immortal 3 and peaked at radiant, and I've only encountered one single cheater, which was in a deathmatch lobby. However, there are countless times where I've fought people that are very suspicious, but I would just wash it away as a good player smurfing. To me, cheating is hardly an issue.

There has been a few periods when I encountered several cheaters on consecutive games/days. These periods did not last more than a week, and I don't even remember the last time I encountered one.

I have encountered some cheaters but only one that was Game breaking and obvious, but it isn't a problem

Not really, sometimes smurfs are an issue based on time. noticed smurfs show up consistently in early morning time than evening/latenight grinds.

Played since day 1 of the beta.

Up until a few months ago I've had 0 red screens and only rarely seen very suspicious people play against/with me.

In the last 4-5 months I've had 4 red screens mid match and more frequent suspicious players. Can never tell for certain since we have no replay ability (rito pls add) but to me it does seem like it's getting more frequent.

How can u confirm that enemy is cheater ? in fast paced 5v5 team battle when u are flaming each other in low elo aka BLAMEGAME, people only get to know they are playing with cheater when Valorant Msg pops and confirm there was a cheater in ur GAME, not TEAM or ENEMY TEAM, so in that context it is very hard to say that "How many cheaters have you encountered?" as low elo player can't determin enemy is smurfing or straight up Cheating, so it is not EASY to say u got a cheater in ur GAME.

Played since beta, peaked ascendant 3. Met only 1 cheater and he got banned mid game

Cheater isn't really an issue but they do appear mostly on a new act, especially new season but disappear after a week or two. Second, you rarely saw them on plat and below on rank chances are you'll meet them more on unrated rather than comp. Lastly, I've met multiple cheater and most of them doesn't get banned immediately even after you report them but they'll get ban the next day. all of this is my experience in Sydney and Singapore server.

smurfs are a bigger issue than cheaters in this game. Equally annoying though, specially when most of them are so cocky and don't realize they're basically trying to massage their own ego.

I definitely think trigger bot is the realest nearly undetectable cheat Valorant has to deal with, and it might be a bigger issue at the highest levels of play than anyone realizes.

This streamer played guardian only for a very long time and was radiant before he was finally banned for trigger bot.

cheaters could be everywhere, riot doesnt care
search "valorant cheat" on youtube and in less than 10 clicks you can be in a discord server buying a cheat
what riot does about it? nothing, the channels and servers are up for months, and profiting with it
meanwhile this fcking Vanguard "anti-cheat" goes deeper and deeper into your pc

the cheats are becoming so advanced that it's impossible to take a conclusion out of eye test (just watch a few minutes of the last link, you can configure it to be more or less precise, when you want to hit shots, when you want to miss, etc.). It's a really sad situation and idk why riot isnt open about it, maybe marketing reasons idk
