they have 3rd most points so if liquid qualify on points instead of automatically through grand finals they're out

grands or they qual 4th on points through 3rd/4th place finish with a grands containing two of FNC, TL, TH and BBL don't get more points than them

they only fail to qual with both FNC and Liquid outside of grand finals + they dont reach themselves, it basically can't happen

basically every scenario where they dont qual involves them, FNC and TL crashing out in various last places and then they dont qual bc they're third on points as a result, which will basically never happen so

both vit and navi qualify in 0.78125% of possible outcomes...

i got bored and decided to simulate every possible playoffs result and thus champions qualifications

the results are as follows:
FNC: 100%
TH: 97.85%
TL: 86.52%
BBL: 42.92%
GX: 25%
NAVI: 28.66%
VIT: 11.42%
KC: 7.62%

note this is assuming every match is 50:50, in that every result has an equal probabilty of happening. if BBL lose the match currently happening their chances go to 29.9% chance, and TH qualify to Champions

it does remove the stakes which is a shame, but also apeks and m8s were so unbelievably shit that id rather have completely new teams than see what bottom of the barrel scrapings they would have found for their 2026 rosters

I hope the org stays in val after this season, they have a very good track record with creating strong Ascension teams would be a shame to see them leave. honestly keeping Molsi then rebuilding around him with fresh talent would be very cool to see, he's been their most consistent player all year and the extra experience i think can turn him into a very strong igl

that means a team could play 3 bo5s over the last couple days by losing winners finals, winning losers finals then playing grands which sounds absolutely miserable for them

its worth trying to get them into it if they play and enjoy the game, i have friends who play and i got them into it by just mentioning it enough, now we talk abt our vfl and stuff it's good fun. idk if theres an important match on ask if they wanna watch it, champs or stage finals could be a good opportunity

and picking a character locks the other team from picking them? bc that sounds so stupid. need like double the cast for that to be viable
