chongqing holds the vct cn stage 2's playoffs
for chengdu i think it's becuz in 2024 chengdu held MSI and IEM chengdu(this year and next year as well) and it was the first choice but failed, so shanghai as the sub come in. 2026 champs is determined to be shanghai maybe 2 years ago.
Most impotantly, shanghai and beijing have the greatest arena like Mercedes and bird nest

If matches start at 18:00 in Berlin, it's midnight in China and 1am in Korea. That's not really doable for East Asia.

And you don't really want to start matches much earlier than that because the majority of the event will be on regular business days.

It's not really possible to please all regions at once, and Pacific and China just have by far the bigges fanbase. Plus Champions is actually rotating through the regions (in the partnership era we've had Americas, Pacific, EMEA, now China, and 2027 Americas again) so I don't think there's much to complain about.

Toronto and Paris this year should both be fine for Americas and tbh I'm expecting M2 next year to be in EMEA again and M1 probably in Americas too.

It just sucks that the only people that can watch most of the tournament easily is just Asia. The old system was fine, and I didn’t really mind masters in Asia bc they were shorter, and not watching a few games didn’t feel as bad as missing champs.

Remember the chinese market is the biggest, not only the numbers of players in chinese server but also the VIEWs of the streams, the ppl in the game's community.Riot knows who is their biggest sugar daddy and it's time for you to wake up and build ur own mind .
btw the views of EU are the lowest in the 4 regions.
For the numbers in detail i have to say is PAC+AMER+EMEA< 1/4 of china.You can find it in riot's year's report last year, even it's not with the co-streams and several watch-partys in china.
Take ur time to face the truth man, but im sure to go to berlin LA KR to watch the other regions' games in the next 2 or 3 years
