Really not sure about Efina, and this is coming from someone who was a fan of F4Q/Team IAM... Efina IGL'd for IAM way back when but Doenmo (another Korean streamer) took over because things weren't going well (Doenmo's words not mine).

The internal discussion seems to be that he's in good form rn and it's hard to doube solo's talent ID so there's probably some promise...

Had no tactical knowledge from start to end. Entire tactical identity was hoping Lee Kang-in would get the ball and work some magic. In Korean it's called 개인 플레이, in English maybe you'd call it relying on individualistic talents, but it's like pickiing up the five best Valorant players in the country without really caring who IGLs or designating roles.

He earned a 2-1 win over Czechia thanks to individual brilliance, but in losses to Mexico and South Africa, his substitutions failed to make an impact. Most notably, dropping Son from the starting lineup after refusing to let him play on the wing (his best position throughout his entire career). After benching Son in the South Africa game, Hong (seemed to have) had a moment of clarity and substituted him on at halftime. This seems to suggest he sees what he did wrong, but he stubbornly proceeded to use a 3-4-3 tactic that had no natural wingbacks and continually left the team outnumbered in the midfield.

I could go on and on about corruption in the football association, but for a guy who coached arguably South Korea's worst World Cup in the 21st century (2014) to get the job again and let a golden generation of talent go to waste is an extreme disservice to the Korean people and to its players.
