Furia reportedly will play with NA players on the first match of kickoff. The main roster is having visa problems and likely won't get on LA on time to play the match, so they're working with subs for at least the first match. The names haven't been announced but will probably be for the next few days. Any predictions?

I get that but it's Americas region, not the USA region - it would actually be more fair if instead of LATAM and BR teams always getting fucked that sometimes teams the US also got fucked too for a change - I get it, RIOT can't rotate locations to LATAM but the players already have to leave their families and sacrifice way more than any team from US - this takes up scrimming time, jet lag is envolved and the VISA process is extremely annoying.
At the very very least RIOT should be a little bit more flexible and help the teams that they clearly put at disadvantage.
I'm saying that it would only be fair - if the location of the VCT changes - since it is the Americas region - so that the US teams are on leveled playing failed with the teams from other regions - so instead of SA getting fucked consistently everyone would get fucked the exact same - do you understand now darling?

cuz explain to me why are americans entitled to the prime best locations for them for years straight when the other half of vct americas has to travel halfway around the globe and apply for work visas year after year after year and travel away from their families and friends?

i think we do need to have a discussion about making valorant an international league way too early when the game isn't established yet. every year of franchising we had problems with org estructure and immigration. i feel like franchising isn't a bad idea by itself but it was made way too early to be fair between regions

no, there's no idea rn as to who will play for furia. like op said they have a roster, but they aren't going to reveal it prob until wednesday-ish. i assume they'll get whoever but there are some br or latam players who they could get that probably have visas bc they previously were in la
for everyone saying its ORGs fault, surely you never had to pass through all VISA process to fly from South America. Even KRU manager said they sent 120 emails about them VISA and adverso will not make it to KRU first match.
The process is completely random without clear protocols between consulate agents
LATAM seems like a great place to host Americas. Think it will give the region more of an identity regarding promotional material and we did have a solid ascensions finals at Monterrey. Relatively safe city for foreigners and is a great compromise for location. Issue is they need to announce a move like this really early to make sure these teams find housing and the legal paperwork for this.
i think it will be rough everywhere. too different cultures and timezones for all the players to be satisfied. USA is probably the better place because its very diverse, but then we have visa issues. i think the main problem is having an international league when your main product isn't very widely spread yet. would probably be safer to separate into 2 conference leagues like LoL esports rn
