I don't think fortnite is that hard to go pro in because of how inconsistent it is at the top it feels like 50 new people are suddenly top players like every season and then don't appear again afterwards

many factors go into this
path to pro system
current state of both tier 1 and tier 2 to below
how many organizations are invested
is it franchised or open circuit
does the esports accept gambling/sports betting sponsors
is the dedicated community/fanbase big enough
what's the median of salary (i personally think the average salary of cs players is higher than the average salary of val player)
is the esports scene highly competitive or dominated by one team/region
and most importantly, is the base game mechanically demanding and hard to improve/get good at

is rocket league really that closed off? Its been a while since Ive paid attention to it, but back during the start of covid it seemed like a relatively easy league to enter (rule and player attitude wise)

The other games youve named (excluding dota since idk anything about their scene) have either a ruleset or just a culture that makes it incredible hard to get into a tier where you get paid above or equal to your countries minimum wage

Rocket League is open qualifier but its the actual skill of the game that makes it hard

I guess so but other games with relatively open formats don't seem to have this problem it's probably because fortnite 8s so easy to play on your own compared to other esports and actually has funding unlike fgcs

feel like fortnite and RL fall in to the same difficulty category you can into to the top but it IS hard to stay there and both games are mechs heavy and they match the age peak potential curve avg perfectly lil to no exceptions but have underrated game knowledge aspects i get fortnite is more memey and chaotic and the lack of org sport and investment and it is BR but i think it adds to the difficulty but that being said all the games that still have old heads at the top should have there spots reserved for hardest games to go pro in so i guess if u had to choose it would be RL since fortnite's unpredictable nature gives T2-3 players a chance while in RL u have to be better no connections no BS

dota should be higher valorant isn't harder nor is rocket league might beat lol too

Dota 2 is legit harder than league and even the communities of both have agreed to that.

I mean yeah I think so too but the important factor in league is that it's so many fucking champions and items rn that unless u had begun earlier to play it, u can't simply know or master everything as of rn if u start

that goes same for dota too, even if u had played league before and switched to dota, u would still struggle mastering the mechanics in dota. in better words, Dota 2 has room for much in depth strategies and complexity of util/ mechanics which leads to slower paced mind games while league is just streamlined mechanics and faster paced games which is easily playable by amateur player who havent played MOBA before

Going pro in what state? In the highest rank in that respective state or to go from a fresh beginner to pro?

In any case, league is the hardest case to do so. Unlike valorant, league has existed for a more than a decade and the level of play in the game has reached such a high point that you not only must work hard but also have the mechanical and tactical talent to even be a pro in a minor region

nah mobile games at highest level like pubgm or mlbb are very hard too. also i think the guy meant pubg pc which is quite hard mechanically. but personally i don't think any battle royale esports should be considered top esports just cause how much rng is innvolved.

don't mention rng esports as one of the hardest esports or top one where zone rng or luck affects the top level too much. rng in pubg pc is higher than any other battle royale esports even more than pubgm.

True it's so disgusting how much zone rng or luck matters in highest level of a game. Skills still needed but zone rng equally important which shouldn't be a thing in eSports.

Dota 2 is legit harder than league and even the communities of both have agreed to that.

Dota 2 for an average player can be harder but the level at the top does not even come close to the top of league.

If you play at masters+ in league and dies lv 2 in top your game is basically over and your game will end at 15.

In dota 2 you can see a lot of pro players dying like bots in the early game and still they are not punished because the games goes up to 50 minutes.

Try to play league at the highest level if you make one single mistake early, you will not touch the wave for the rest of the game, you will not be able to get even XP.

This level of punishement is not something dota have, thats why in league by 10 minutes the game is already decided.

Also i will not even talk about how slow dota is compared to league, when i played dota for 1 week and came back to league i felt like i was a 60 years old, i was never so slow in my fucking life, that game take your reaction away, shit is too slow.

epic is lowk killing rlcs by making it TOO open

  • you have to qualify for every single event no matter how well you do in the previous one
  • they changed it this year but the qualifier format last year was just one big double elimination bracket so good teams got left out bc of unlucky brackets whereas randoms who got completely shit on in the main event made it all the way to main event
  • there are NO IMPORT RULES so SSA (sub-saharan africa) has been COMPLETELY taken over by full EU teams and APAC is trending in the same direction

the early game punishments dont matter in dota and in league too. cuz the depth of game plans and opportunities for players to bring out their strats is way more in dota than in league. u will literally need to predict the upcoming of impact of storms in dota unlike in league, it pretty much tells very clearly of the next upcoming waves which is a big skill ceiling in dota. and the fact u told there are not much punishments in dota is wrong. when teams engage in fight in dota2, they have to constantly beware of their scaling in dota whereas in league u dont have to worry much about scaling at the pro level
