do u guys think EDG will be dominant in 2025 or are they going to fall off?
washedradiant [#2]They fluked champs, they werent good this year, therefore they cant fall off. They just got lucky
when a team is playing badly, they make changes to improve
EDG were bad, made changes and were really fkn good
why wont they be just as good next season lmfao
envyz [#5]I mean EDG def had a great run at champs rest of the year were very mid (they are in china so you can't say "they made every lan" of course they'd make every lan)I don't see china doing much this year besides EDG.
depends on who FPX gets to replace Lysoar who was holding them back

How long are we going to keep using this "they weren't good all year" shit as a detractor from their success at champs?
They got a new coach, a new support player, and shifted the IGL role to someone else. They didn't just magically get good for a month. They made tangible changes that directly improved their performance, so there's no reason to expect them to regress to how they were in stage 2.
Saying ‘fluked" champs is insane. China defeated 2nd 3rd and 4th place at champs to win the whole tournament. Sure they werent dominant in the entirety of the year but they were world class level in champs. I can see EDG getting a high placement in bangkok (if they make it ofc) but the rest of the year would be tough bc so many teams are already utilizing their comps on some maps
Average_NA_fan [#12]yeah bro they were a fluke
No they weren't and that's not my reason, top teams often just fall off between years because of different metas and they can't keep up. It happens every year

The Champs curse may strike yet again

u forgot to mention neon buffs
i believe that was the main part to their success
dort [#20]u forgot to mention neon buffs
i believe that was the main part to their success
that just means they were able to capitalise off of the buffs really well which is a skill in itself
dort [#19]neon carried edg
balance her and edg becomes trash again
but they could never be as trash as nrg could be
CactusPlant [#21]that just means they were able to capitalise off of the buffs really well which is a skill in itself
might be the most delusional comment ive ever read

maybe learn the agent that is good rn not kks fault that he can play every duelist while everyone else is a jett/raze one trick
GambleNats [#24]maybe learn the agent that is good rn not kks fault that he can play every duelist while everyone else is a jett/raze one trick
im just saying if neon was balanced edg places 12th max
dort [#27]im just saying if neon was balanced edg places 12th max
EDG wouldnt need to spend time learning neon and couldve improved in other areas. this argument is just bad dort

It really wasn't. Kang Kang's Jett still fries Miniboo's Jett.

not to mention miniboo's neon was touted to be best itw by some as well?

minibum was a 1 kickoff wonder

TE with a decent map pool would be quite the threat, fpx has shown some greatness and have a good chance of getting into those inti play offs. TEC and JDG are looking prosperous and could see quite the improvement this year. I dont see any of these teams winning but top 8 is def possible

don't underestimate how much teams can improve. every single season a couple new teams come out of complete nowhere and topple their way into top 4 in the internationals. G2 silent grinded their way to top 3 shanghai & we shouldn't act like everyone wasn't completely down on Heretics at the start of the season

When I'm salty that my favourite team lose to a CN teams :

absolutely true, I dont think a single team couldve predicted the success of G2 or heretics this year. someone like AG in china might just awaken and get top 4 or something. but Im just listing the most likely scenarios

yeah what's definitely gonna be true is that they're definitely gonna be stronger this season. I do personally hope it's either Wolves or AG that improve, but I wouldn't complain if fucking Tyloo or TEC clawed their way onto the map considering how much structure they've seemed to accumulate since Split 1

I really believe in this TEC comeback if they pick up haodong and after
GambleNats [#39]I really believe in this TEC comeback if they pick up haodong and after
even without those 2 I think TEC can make some strides assuming things don't go horribly wrong. they had some improvement before the regular season ended so there's obviously something there
GambleNats [#18]def not dominant, meta changes are gonna fuck up every good team eventually, but they arent gonna be top 6 andys anymore, they are gonna be serious contenders from now on
Serious contenders in ch0na maybe.
charleser [#46]EMEA, NA and Pacific are all putting together some really promising teams, I'm not seeing a whole lot of buzz for China right now. I think EDG will do well but won't winning an international. But I do think we'll see the Chinese teams improve internationally overall.
really hard to stay on the top and win another trophy with how stacked competition is but i definitely think they’ll make deep runs at each event, they are trophy contenders
