The Best Team Has Never Won B4

I just had a realization that the best team of every year never won champs.
2021 - Gambit
2022 - Optic
2023 - FNATIC
2024 - GenG

Why? Is it just that hard to keep consistency in this game?

You have to consistently innovate, once you have a success with a certain playstyle, other teams can study it and build counter measures, that's why fnatic was able to be so good in 2022, the way they played in lock in vs. end of year was semi dissimilar in terms of approach (always had the player quality tho obviously), which is why I think they won two trophies and top 4 at champs.

no Fnatic was clearly the best team of 2023, Demon1 joined the main roster after the first international and really became The Demon1 during masters which EG did not win.

yall so delulu gambit got farted on by acend

optic was dookied on twice at champs

fnatic played much easier events at tokyo and lock\in, and really werent that good at champs, drx 13-1d them and you could tell they werent gonna win sadly

geng got beat down by sen twice this year, are we surprised?

There’s also the fact that being the ‘best’ means being seen as a threat. This leads to getting antistrat a LOT more. Furthermore, because you keep making deep runs, there is a lot more footage of your playbook.

The best team every year is the one that wins Champions. That should be common sense.

I would honestly say it has to do with the schedule and lack of events imo. 3 events in a year is a small sample, if there were let's say 5 events (March, May, July, September, November), then you would have a way bigger sample of events to actaully see how teams play.

Then FNC loses to LOUD in Champs and EG victors over LOUD.

I love EDG too but let's not act like they were the best all year they honestly looked worse than last year until stage 2

Those teams weren't "the best." They peaked sooner and then couldn't keep up when the champs winners (and even runners-up) really figured their shit out later in the year.

Which one would be the best of them all? 🤔
