Wasn't a huge fan of Tenz in the beginning but he was truly a great player. SEN is kinda is nothing without him.
This offseason VCT shit ruined Valorant's future. Not as impressive anymore. 2025 will be okay but the hype won't be the same anymore.

Who will be the new Tenz of Valorant? I think it should be Aspas.

Either way Valorant will have a downfall and with franchise teams leaving the VCT scene, its already happening.

tenz averages 20k+ viewers on twitch, aspas is slightly behind

viewers on twitch isnt difficult. riot hardcore advertised tenz throughout the years, if they do that to aspas then the outcome will be the same. aspas or demon1 or kangkang but nobody knows chinese except china so most likely a non-chinese face of valorant.

Except that was never what this was about. You people need to stop being so blinded by rage when hearing anything positive regarding tenz.
Being the face of something doesn't mean automatically that you're the best of that thing. The face of chess is Magnus Carlson but Gary Kasparov has had a far more impressive rule over the games history (ofc during his time he was the face).
It might be someone else in the future but it's unlikely considering how much influence tenz has had in regards to bringing in new pros and new casuals to the game. More viewers, and changed the landscape of the esports' rise in popularity.

EDG were invited to EA LCQ which qualified them to Champs 2022
They were invited to LOCK//IN
Invited to Masters Tokyo
Invited to Champs 2023

Then in 2024 Shanghai's theme was literally made around KK as #14 mentioned, things like his op pose were sent around by Riot.
Past that, China has been a weak region (not through their own fault), so EDG can experience diff them.

What does deserve credit is the run they went on in Champs though, that parts defo not forced. But you have to still admit that Riot have really been pushing KK to appeal to the Chinese audience, and that's not even necessarily a bad thing, but you're simply wrong if you don't accept Riot were pushing it.

from my perspective you push something with foundation or without, in this case it is not uncommon because KK was never a really mid or bad player, and in 2024 it happened that he finally managed to have a team at his level, coincidentally it happens that EDG took the best of his region. The only thing I could agree with you is the champions song but before that it is stupid, since it is the only regular team in China since the beginning, that is not being pushed by riot, it is logical to be the face of that region, as sentinels was the 1st year, or Loud in their year of champions in Americas, PRX kinda with something similar.
