G2 pick split to get it out of the way?

I was asleep for the rest of the bo5 but im seeing old tweets and comments about sen beating g2 on their map pick, and that g2 shouldn't have picked split if its sens strong map.

To me it seemed that they were getting it out of the way no?
They probably did think they had some chance to catch sen by surprise since they got stomped by 100T, but lotus is perma ban + bind is arguably even better for sen,
If sen get to play split in the middle of the bo5 it might cut a G2 momentum, if its the last map it's even more scary, seems like a great pick from G2 the casters didn't really point out

Momentum doesn’t apply that much map to map, it’s much more important to get you good maps in earlier and bad maps last in case of a 3-1 or 3-0

Would you really risk it going to map 5 on a map your enemies love to play? At the end of the day g2 need to win 3/5 if they let it go 3-1 that means they lost a map or two they needed to win

They could have picked Bind instead. But they seemed to be more confident on Split because they had 3 SEN Split vods and SEN didn't look that great on it. If SEN spend more time on Split and fixing their Abyss they can't prep for Fractured and Haven which they have been avoiding.

Yeah theres 2/3 vods of bind aswell but i dont remember sen ever losing on it, i really think that 100T stomp was what picked between the two

I like the take. Honestly as a G2 fan I was terrified for Haven bc Narrate on Iso could've snowballed out of control and honestly almost did. GG to Sen was a great b05 hope americas gets to take home another international either way.
