i think so - insane matchups every game, rivalries continued, crazy runs from teams like Talon
C9 was clearly trolling with their double sentinel comps (especially the one on haven) and they lost to the best team at the tourny C9 will be the best team in the Americas league and the only reason they were trolling with their comps was so they could go back to US and prac fuck this mickey mouse tourny 100t or LOUD will win for Americas dont worry
I love how c9 fans say that drx is the best in the tourney just because c9 lost to them...also there are more stacked teams in the Americas league than c9, who have an actual winning mentality instead of a "happy to be here" mindset. And why wouldn't you try to win lock in? You are so high on copium it's crazy.
im saying this as a drx fan, we can't decide that they are best itw because the omega bracket is way more stacked than the alpha bracket. the top 3 EMEA teams, 2 out of 5 top americas teams are in the omega bracket, as well as many dark horses. saying that drx is the best in the world would be ignorant, especially because even LOUD could be better than them.
No I don’t agree. How can I agree when The Guard isn’t franchised despite being better than at least 70% of franchised teams (if not more)? The Guard is not only a better team, they are also a better org (great graphics/social media team, good YouTube content, a lot of access to resources such as SoFi Stadium, they’re rich, etc.).
He chose that for himself, and honestly, I stand with him for that decision. The Guard gave him the opportunity of a lifetime that no other org would, and he took that opportunity to become one of the best. It's really not that surprising at all that he would want to pay back the favor to them. Regardless, he's guaranteed to get into franchising, whether that be The Guard winning Ascension (extremely likely), or him leaving The Guard to join a franchised team next year.

The problems people have with franchising have nothing to do with the level of tier 1 competition. Franchising brings stability which is great for orgs/players and particularly investors who are involved. The problems tend to arise with the tier two+ scenes. Stability is inherently resistant to change, even good change, so it can stifle prospective pro playerbase growth and talent development if not implemented properly (ahem overwatch). If teams/orgs/players don't see a viable path towards either inclusion in the league or inclusion in the big tournaments, it can kill the scene.
I think the Valorant franchising is promising since Riot have a relatively good track record with LOL. The promise of a continuously expanding league system each year is a great development. The challengers leagues (VCLs) I'm a big more skeptical on. Opportunities to get into the VCLs are so limited (once per year in some cases) that a big portion of the amateur scene could be dissuaded from participating if they see nothing to play for over many months. It remains to be seen whether Valorant stagnates a bit here (it is big enough to persist for a while anyways, and hopefully league play keeps it popular enough to prevent the stagnation).
Thank you for listening to my ted talk :'D. I didn't mean to write so much.
Also... we'll have that in-game system to "become a pro" (I think that 'Alpha Premier' that was tested once in BR server will be the way)
So, even tho some teams/players kill the t2+ scenes, there will always have some new players that never recieved a chance of becoming a pro, to prove themselves and will do it with passion and hungry to win
I started watching Valorant the very first day the beta was released.
My friend there were not 30 teams this good last year I can guarantee you that. And wtf is “they got worse” supposed to even mean? Dude with Franchising teams have been able to handpick exactly what players they wanted instead of having good players spread out on broken rosters that had been stuck on the same level for a year.
