Meiy is the hyped player because he's the face of the team. Yes, he's talented statistically but anyone with an inkling of his history with DFM/CR knows why he is. But that's not to say there's no other star player in that roster like Akame and Jinboong who are elevating the level of play in that team.

its clear that you don't really know about SPG/NS. Since VCL Korea, Francis has been equally, if not more, represented as the face of SPG/NS. Coming into ascension, dambi received a lot of engagement online, but the face of spg didnt change to dambi alone.

Dambi is "flashy" because of how the team plays but in all honesty, that doesnt mean that he is the automatic face of SPG/NS. its a different case compared to Meiy and DFM.

Pretty sure you're getting the term "star player" mixed up, a "star player" typically refers to a player who stands out due to their exceptional skills, impact on the game, and positive contributions to the community, often recognized and rewarded for their efforts. Meiy's skill and impact on the game far exceeds that of Akame and Jinboong, any game that DFM even had a chance in or won this year was because Meiy was the top of the leaderboard.
