Brazil might be one of the least racist countries there is right? I have seen people of all colors there and they mingle with each other very well.

depends, but yeah. its mixed asf, racism exist but its more when you are mad at someone and not just some random racism just to be racist like what usually happen in US.
like in some countries people would just hate you for being X race, but here rarely happen.

this is literally the meaning of the word

"… 60% of young people from the outskirts Without a criminal record have already suffered police violence
Three out of every four people killed by the police are black ,
In Brazilian universities, only 2% of students are black"

  • Racionais MC's

This is the situation of structural racism on my country :(
Like
We have Brasillian 19 Players in VCT Americas
18 Whites
1 Black (Dgzin)

This is the Structural racism in our country.

Oh damn, that's brutal. But i do think that valorant players being mostly white or asian is just due to interest. Blacks are just not into FPS i'm pretty sure. Black people are more into physical sports.

Yeah thats probably true especially since laptops or pcs are expensive to buy in countries like brazil and i dont want to be racist or stereotyping but most black families are not very well off so they might rather invest in their child's future in sports or studies

ofc, every country has some racism but what i've seen on media like the brazil's football team, i think most of the team consists of black people and all of them seem like buddies

its a bit complex to talk about here but yeah brazil is very racist besides being more racially conscious and diverse than some countries like argentina and chile (not pointing fingers, i dont like generalizing)

Chile is the least racist country i have ever been to. I remember going to miami and getting called a mexican mix and going to florianopolis and curitiba and getting called a mulato. Overall Chile is the only country in wich i dont think i was ever judged by my skin color

as a Chilean, while I partially agree, it's kinda going in that direction, tho rn the only thing that will get you genuine hatred is not being black, indigenous or even white, but being Venezuelan.

nope, it's not bc of sports, it's bc of immigration 💀

(tbf I have also heard many other LATAM countries are reaching similar levels of hatred towards Venezuelan immigrants)

we dont hate argentina just because of sports, we hate them with no main reason (i think)

that's what i mean, it's not like we have an unfriendly rivalry or smth, there's a concrete reason why Venezuelans are so hated in Chile rn

Brother im not saying brazilians are racist, as a matter of fact they are among the nicest people i have ever meet. Its just that i have experienced racism in brazil and only on brazil in latam. In colombia never, in Peru never, surprisingly in Argentina never as well, but then i read about them on twitter and i cant believe they werent racist to me. I also tought mulato wasnt a bad word but then a friend told me it was derogatory so idk.

#30

i got u
mulato is the mix of black and white people (we treat just as color, not as race), like moreno ou pardo, i've never seen mulato been used in a racist way
and argentina is only racist against brazilians (and vice versa)

tbh ive never met any chilean, im talking more of experience online (specially with recent events on football), but overall they do seem more chill than their direct neighbours

and about Florianópolis and Curitiba: south of brazil is the most racist the country gets, so ur prob right. things are pretty weird down there specially regarding neonazi activity and separatist movements

#36

ai vc ta me atacando ne carai kkkkkk

"things are pretty weird down there"
vc taxou a região inteira, amigo

My mother is Brazilian. I know São Paulo. The country is like everywhere else—they are racist against Black people. The whiter you are, the better they will treat you. Also, they like Japanese and Koreans too. That’s the truth.

I think that racism isn't a black and white problem.

I think its a scale. As for Brazil, no clue where they land on the scale.

the brazilian people in general are not racist (obviously there are exceptions), the problem here is much deeper, structural racism will continue to affect brazil for decades, if not centuries.

But i feel it for this case

A lot of inflammatory answers but yes. Brazil has very little racism, to its own citizens it might feel like a lot, but of you compare it with the rest of the world, Brazil IS EXTREMELY LESS racist.
