How do people rate him as an igl? I remember he was be called one of the fragging igls from last year, but 2024 sen looked way better in their calling than 2025, and I assume sacy was helping out with the midrounding. His attack side calling seems to struggle, with him running into the stacked site late a lot of times. Pearl today was pretty rough, except that sen was able just to outfrag 100t, even when running into a stack. I was curious on what people thought of his calling specifically and what they would rate it?

I think he is quite good. It’s the initiator role that’s dragging him down a bit.

I thought he was the one who wanted to switch to the initiator role, that's why N4rrate was on cypher during the off season. When you say dragging him down did you mean in terms of his performance or his calling?

the switch wasnt probably preference. Most senti igls have to transition to initiator bcs calling in the current meta requires that they go with the pack. TL will most likely switch nAts to initiator as well since serial is a sentinel player

I must have misremembered, because I thought people were saying it was his choice during the sen city event.

I really hope that's not true and nAts stays on sentinel, he's legit one of the best in his role.

He's still great, top 3 igl in Americas. He's just not amazing. As he was last year. I don't think the pace they're playing at is strictly on John.

If I remember correctly, zellsis and sacy handled most of the mid-rounding and johnqt was more of the final say. Along with stuff like start of round setups, early set strats are what john did the most of. (Based on what I heard tenz talk about)

I'm not talking about being top frag... You're claiming her barely frags over zellsis... If he barely frags over zellsis and zekken fragged over zellsis less times than him... pretty telling. But he also fragged over zellsis more than bang and n4rrate so that excuse doesn't really work.

His aim is still good, but since he's on initiator now he has to focus more on using his util to help his team and stopping the enemy team, while still calling, so he doesn't get to focus on his aim as much.

He might be underrated at this point. Most top igl lists on vlr don't even include him or they put him towards the bottom.
