every franchise team played ,lock in was way more fun to watch
The ONLY reason I would say its mickey mouse is that one half of the teams got WAY more time and prep than the other half, as they started after that brackets side was fully done
but still tho
like look at who made top 4
all of those teams deserved to be there
its the least micky mouse tournament.
fnatic dominate through single elim all the way until final
every single team in vct is there
they keep their high level dominating the rest of the year with top 2 in EMEA, Tokyo win and top 4 champs
loud also show high level dominating americas as top 1 and top 3 in champs
lowkey they shouldve kept lockin as first tournament of every season instead of kickoff + 8 team master
agree with everything but last point, it's a scheduling nightmare and also costs so much to host 32 if not 48 current teams across all 4 regions, it worked only becuase VCT CN didn't exist in 2023
To be fair tho regardless of how many teams participated, it was simply a Mickey mouse by the sheer fact that there were really only 4 or 5 "good" teams out of all 32 and really only fnatic who were exceptional.
It was an invitational single elim tournament.
The biggest mickey mouse of all time.
If lock in is an invitational, then literally every post franchise tourney is mickey mouse because only invited teams are there.
random matches single elimination mickey mouse invitational it’s not completely mickey it’s like half a masters
FNC were literally like 2 roudns away from getting elim'ed by a tier 3 Japanese tema.
