I wanna learn the role (Sova/Fade mostly). Anyone have advice on where to find playbooks and actually useful tech?

trickaim on twitter sometimes posts some cool sova tricks, though you might have to scroll down a lot
on behalf of playbooks, idk. most of it is paid

this website is a godsend for learning any and all useful lineups. Should definitely help
Don't go super fancy with 10 million lineups, learn 2-3 for each site and when to save recon for site hits on defense, most of all just play it a lot and feel it out on defense.
Yeah I'm very conservative with my utility in ranked. I wanna learn the role because of just how powerful it is to have solid info on enemy presence midround and bc it's more reliant on raw gunfights than agents with flashes, smokes, or trips.
Init is actually great in ranked. You just gotta know how to use your util properly and not just wing it.
Fr. I think they just get a bad rep because of mfs who fill and have no idea what they're doing. A good init player is so refreshing to have as a tm8.
I'm not saying initiator, I mean recon initiator specifically. I just think a lot of the util is team based and one thing I've been trying to do is never trust my teammates until ascendant, so I suppose if you are ascendant+ it's okay if you want to play recon
I don't play recon init, but players who actually study and practice recon init are really impactful from my experience. It's the bums that play sova on a whim and have no idea what they are doing that fucking stink. It's why I will always be against flex players, you are actively inting if you choose an agent and don't know how to use their kit.
I'm so with you on not trusting teammates. I've been trying that too.
But imo recon initiator is a lot better for that than flash initiator bc you're always able to play off of info, and being in the backline lets you bait and clutch. It feels a lot better than Kayo or Breach for example where you're just worse Phoenix if nobody swings off your flashes and stuns.
I think that kind of depends on a case by case personal comfortability like some are better with info and some are better having their own personal flash or tejo like I know gekko is a really good beginner solo queue agent because fairly easy to use util just chuck it up and you can flash for yourself or your team without lineups or the chance to team flash/stun so yeah it kinda depends
Again the problem is that there's actually a very narrow window for swinging off your own flashes on Gekko/Skye/Kayo/Breach compared to Phoenix and Yoru. I've tried playing Gekko and it's not bad but tbh Fade feels a lot better for selfish play, except for having Wingman plant in 1vX scenarios.
for sova js watch sinatraas old vids. Unlike the other ccs his is practical and on the fly setups. For fade, maybe zt0l since he has some god lineups. You could also just watch proplay some of their tech is fire. ALSO WATCH SACY his gamesense of the agents are very high. leo used to have great sova/fade tech but he doesnt play the game anymore
Pog thank you
I do watch a lot of pro play but it's kinda hard to focus just on what the recon player is doing and not the whole team
You can watch snapiex who is a sova main he has very good lineups for fade and sova
I used to play sova alot (imo hes the most fun character to play, but whenever I play him my team always loses but maybe its because of low rank)
I would just play a ton and you find lineups from playing. Memorizing a bunch doesnt help outside of 1-2 maps bcuz youforget alot
