We are starting to see VCT become less diverse as time goes on. Regions like SEA and Latin America are becoming less prevalent in the international stage. The ones that are qualifying are the ones that host the leagues like Korea and NA. I feel like I really loved vct because of its diversity and I am really sad to see it fade.

This may be due to this being the start of the year, but I feel like riot needs to host the leagues in multiple cities so t2 in these places can get better practice and the t1 teams have better practice during the offseason.

Bro wait the year. It's one event calm down. The br/la teams didnt go as hard in the off season as na did. To the point it's surprising nrg and c9 did as well as kru, loud, and mibr with probably twice their prep time.

actually. and even more I miss when more than 25 NA players were relevant and teams didn't have to recycle the same 'franchised proven' talent like they do in now that t1 and t2 are so split. look at how much healthier this tournament looked org/player wise compared to now: https://www.vlr.gg/event/800/champions-tour-north-america-stage-2-challengers/group-stage

there are 6 NA teams and 6 Latam teams in Americas and 6 East Asian teams and 6 non East Asian teams in Pacific so its literally just a skill issue

i think where the tournament is hosted also has an impact in some way, like how in pacific most of the SEA teams live in a hot climate while korea is a cold climate, and im pretty sure its the same thing for latam and brazil to NA. also homesickness is a thing, and while it may not be an excuse its a point to be taken

trust me, korea is NOT considered to have cold climate year around. In fact, our summers are devastatingly hot (PRX themselves have said this???) and our winters are in fact freezing (but has it occurred that you don't play VALORANT outside in the snow?) also, its not like koreans are immune to their own weather, as we suffer heavily from weather fluctuations, it's almost like we can't get adjusted to either the cold or the heat.

but yeah, homesickness is terrible...

the thing is, riot already has an HQ in KR, and KR's infrastructure makes it easier for esports to be held there. also, kr culture is heavily geared towards gaming, so I'm pretty sure that equipment/cultural boundaries won't be hard to overcome.

Riot needs to separate Americas into two regions to save South America imo, SEA will be fine in the long run they just need more serious orgs that know how to build teams
