and we are already discussing who's gonna play in Champs. This schedule is fucked y'all. Worst teams play at max 12 games. HOLY SHIT. Someone at riot doesnt know match because just because you have more games isnt gonna dilute the viewership that much and still have more games to broadcast. it's like 20k (avg veiwers) 12(matches) or 10k(avg viewers) 24(matches). This is excluding the playoffs and internationals.

It does change that. Especially when 12 matches are not on same meta, agent pool or maps. So realistically you are only getting 6 matches per meta.

Because not everyone is a coward and chooses just the "best" team to support. Also, Valorant has changing metas every international, so you are only getting 6 games for each meta which is nothing

i think they should run group atage for kickoff & stage 1,
and for stage 2 run whole league where every team plays each other, so atleast the worst team can still play 21 games

7 weeks for Kickoff & Stage 1
12 weeks for Stage 2
2 weeks for Masters 1, 2 & EWC(?)
3 weeks for Champs
2 weeks break after each International

and all I can say is, if they wanted more matches, they shouldve been good enough to play them. more matches is more stress on the top teams, more painful for scheduling, more stress on allocated time for 2 more matches that only 2 fanbases will. thats an awful trade

Bruv. It's not like they are already playing 20 matches and I am asking them to play 20 more. And nobody has ever complained about playing more matches. They have only complained about stress due to very low gaps between international and regional splits, which is still there even with a long off season. Also, they don't need to have "group" stages for masters. They should only keep it for champs. That way, champs has something unique than masters which should be straight up double elim bracket or swiss into semis and finals

I have watched this and I had the same opinion even at that time as well. He is trying to justify the schedule as being "okay". All the reasons used to justify the schedule are Riot's doing themselves. That's cyclic thinking, you will never find fault that way. Stadiums not being free, budget etc are in Riot's control. Only reasonable argument would be "burnout" but burnout complaints were never about regional matches, they were about having to play regionals immediately after internationals which is still happening.

They should probably make all teams play each other once both in stage 1 and stage 2. Kickoff is fine and changing it would make the schedule too crammed. This means that there are guaranteed 24matches for the worst teams ever. Champs would probably end in the middle of November or start of December.
