I haven’t been paying much attention to the Americas region as a whole, but why is Brazil seen as a weaker region compared to South Korea?
Both regions have won a world title and have the same amount of teams in their respective legue, although one seems to be dominating their region whilst the other is struggling to have even one Front-runner.

Brazil actually is better than South Korea, but the local we live makes us look weaker.

SK is from pacific, the weakest, BR is from Americas, the strongest.

In 2021, due to inaugural season, slots were given based on each region's FPS platform. Brazil had CSGO, Korea had Overwatch. Brazil was given 2, Korea was given 1 slot in Masters 2 Reykjavik, Champs 21, this was reasonable. Because after all, Valorant game play is look like CSGO more than OW.

No they are not wtf? Korea always had drx making deep runs. Latam did it like once back in 2021. They did it once again in 2024 but with only 2 latam players. Even without counting Geng and nuturn. Drx alone have better success than all of latam.

the thing is korea always was a one team region. they never had more than one team with relevance at the same time, even regionally, pre-franchising, while LATAM was getting two teams to internationals because they could actually win LCQs (with harder opponents)
after franchising this got better because LATAM got on a league much harder than KR with less teams. but KR still havent got over DRX until GENG in 24. thats why now they got an advantage: their international runs were in fact better and now they have more than one team.
but my point is: as a region, they're not very far from each other. you cant say one is underdeveloped and the other isnt. KR has more international runs, but LATAM has classified to internationals more times. KR has advantage because of the masters title but, outside of that, theyre pretty similar on international runs too.
