Why does yay get so much hate?

yay doesnt deserve the amount of hate that he gets from everyone, he had one of the best primes ever seen before. He wasn't even toxic like demon1 or had a weird personality. He wasn't that great on dsg, because it was a last minute decision for him to join the team, and bleed was a dysfunctional org not using him properly. There were many pros worse than yay in 2024, its sad that people hate him that much.

TLDR; Yay humble guy when on top, was in a bad position in both 2023 and 2024. wasn't even that bad of a player and ppl hate yay for no reason.

90% of the yay hate is actively caused by yay glazers, and not yay himself

we're talking about a particular group of people that think that just because he's in tier 1, he's going to win everything.

it happened when he joined C9 with everyone saying C9 was a superteam, it happened with dsg with everyone saying dsg was auto-winning ascension, and it happened with bleed with many saying they're somehow a contender for APAC. even now that he's joining EG people are immediately saying that EG is a contender when we don't know jack shit about how the season is going to go. it's a similar level of glazing that is making primmie a target of negativity right now.

has yay contributed a little to his reputation? sure. the drama in bleed didn't help, neither did whatever happened at dsg. but for the most part, it's not been him causing this amount of hate to pour in.

either way, this website is an echo chamber of baits and stupidity 90% of the time. outside vlr, it's not that serious.

primmie is getting maybe 1% of yay's hate. Yay was one of the best val players in 2022. C9 looked solid beating a solid DRX and losing to a very very good PRX, it wasn't even in his control in what happened in c9. He joined DSG last min in the middle of the season, barely knowing any of the players and barely having any chem with them. Bleed is jst disfunctional and everyone except sscary played bad on bleed

i disagree on primmie getting 1% of the hate. i'm quite sure that if primmie doesn't perform this season this website is just going to dogpile on him because of the glazing he's been getting. i've mentioned this multiple times in the past.

the rest is all true, and again, it's not even yay's fault -- it's that people are glazing him like he's still prime Messi or Ronaldo and that whatever team he joins is going to win everything despite multiple instances of that not happening. if he performs this season under an "actual" system (quotes because it's still EG), then good for him. but if he doesn't, the dogpiling is just going to continue because of the baiters on this site saying EG is going to sweep VCT just because he's on the roster

for the record i'm not a yay hater by any means. do i have trauma from chamber meta? yes. do i think he's overrated right now? yes. but he doesn't deserve the amount of hate he gets here.

People just wanna see successful people fall off, and it happens in every single sport and Esport. You can see it with how much hate the Chiefs get in the NFL because they're currently the best team in the league, and how much hate Mahomes gets because he's a top 3 QB currently.

Similarly in Valorant, yay was considered the best player in the world for a good 2 years before C9 screwed him over (also I just don't understand the rules at that time, why did Riot lock all the rosters in 2023 but didn't for 2024 until Champs?)
