all the brazilian, japanese teams, GE and KOI are guaranteed spots so they dont care about anything except the riot paycheck. its also a disgrace that they receive a portion of the champs money while they dont even qualify...

imagine if it was an open circuit they would be forced to try their best and perform

also there wouldnt be a big gap between t1 and t2 if they regularly played against each other... just look at cs for example.

GE are decent, KOI are decent, DFM are decent, Zeta is shit, MIBR is good, Furia is constantly having visa issues, 2G are ascension team so they are ass by definition.

So like 2 teams that you mentioned are complete garbage right now.

You raise a valid and widely discussed concern within the Valorant esports community. The current franchised model, where certain teams are guaranteed participation regardless of performance, can unintentionally reduce competitive urgency for some organizations. It’s understandable to question the fairness of these teams receiving a share of revenue from events like Champions without actually qualifying, especially when other high-performing teams are excluded. An open circuit system, similar to what we see in Counter-Strike, does promote meritocracy—teams must earn their place through consistent results. Regular competition between Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams also helps narrow the skill gap and fosters a healthier, more dynamic ecosystem. It encourages growth, accountability, and sustained effort across all levels. While the current system has its benefits in terms of financial stability and structure, your point about the potential advantages of an open format is well-founded.

It’s funny cause you chose the worst possible timing to say that. KOI owner has currently 7,4 million live viewers on twitch

Teams are gonna suck, but if someone is gonna suck let it be someone with fans, not teams no one cares about like Apeks. I’m sorry but I hardly disagree with everything you said here for many many reasons, teams do care

YET THEYRE STILL A RETARD ORG WHO IS SCAMMING RIOT

Sure brother sure. Have you thought about how franchising would look like if they introduced relegation?

Let's think about how that would have went, year1 for example:

League starts exactly the same. TH and KC get relegated as they were the 2 worst teams, instead you get M8 and Apeks. Instead of going into year 2 with 2 very capable orgs with resources and infrastructure to rebuild their team and big fanbases. You go into year 2 with 2 teams that fucking suck (M8 sucked their first year), less resources and on top of that no one fucking gives a shit about them (Not M8 you did get lucky there, they're a great org. But you're bound to get a lot more like Apeks not like M8, you would get teams like CGN, or random turkish orgs)

no need for relegation or promotion

literally just copy the cs model its the best

LOL is the more successful esport, both models are proven to work.

Also the CS model without the gambling money is not sustainable, and although Riot is flexing that line I'm not sure they're willing to erase it

Well it's not a great argument when you consider Ibai hasnt streamed a single vct game this year.
But the overall point about providing security to the most popular teams in correct.

Ibai quit all costreams this year including the LOL ones to rest his mental yeah. Doesn't stream much at all. But clout it's not just about viewers, it's social media numbers, it's skins sold etc.

But yeah my point is more the one on #20, it's not about KOI specifically

I think regalation just needs to be in place so franchising teams will have something to worry about

Really think about that again and how that would have play out to decide if you still want it implemented. Read #20 for example

you must be one of the retards that look at an org's results and decide that they're not trying
franchising has its issues but certainly not what your dumb ass just said

i dont think they are trying if they did tier2 wouldnt have better players than their rosters
they dont want to spend money on good players and they dont want to improve the ones they have.
They are jusy rotating the mid players with mid players because they are cheap

top first division teams are usually better than bottom second division teams in many traditional sports with promotion/relegation. It happens in many countries in football for example, does not mean they're not trying

it's a double edged sword rn for those teams that came from a place with lack of talent. if they stick to their local players, they might struggle a lot and ppl think they don't deserve the spot. if they choose to pick player from abroad, the local community will question their purpose as a representative, cz it will be no difference if riot pick another teams.

franchising only happened because on riot being insistent on not having gambling sponsors, just to fold 5 years later and accept them anyway

and pre-partnership we had such Brazilian and Japanese teams get a slot to each international for free. Yet I don't remember complaints about that then.

because they actually had to try?

they couldnt sit there and just collect the riot stipend and champs skin money for free lol

I'd take that free paycheck cuz if they let teams like 100T play, I want that bread too.
