T1 T1 Korea Rank #2 stax Kim Gu-taek (김구택) Meteor Kim Tae-O (김태오) Sylvan Ko Young-sub (고영섭) BuZz Yu Byung-chul (유병철) iZu Ham Woo-ju (함우주) has announced the signing of Yu "BuZz" Byung-chul (유병철), adding one of Korean Valorant's most recognizable names as part of their domestic rebuild.
BuZz has been at the center of Korean Valorant since its professional scene was first established. He joined Vision Strikers Vision Strikers Inactive stax Kim Gu-taek (김구택) Rb Goo Sang-min (구상민) Zest Kim Ki-seok (김기석) BuZz Yu Byung-chul (유병철) MaKo Kim Myeong-gwan (김명관) in 2021, and played a part in proving to the international stage that Korean Valorant teams were a force to be reckoned with.
In 2022 when DRX DRX Korea Rank #4 Flashback Cho Min-hyuk (조민혁) MaKo Kim Myeong-gwan (김명관) Athan Na Ha-jun (나하준) freeing No Ha-jun (노하준) HYUNMIN Song Hyun-min (송현민) acquired Vision Strikers, he joined along with MaKo , Zest , Rb , and stax , the former of which will now be a teammate of BuZz's on T1. MaKo is the only remaining Vision Strikers player still on the DRX roster.
In joining T1, BuZz will be separated with DRX coach termi for the first time since joining Vision Strikers.
BuZz started his professional Valorant career in 2020 with Cloud9 Korea Cloud9 Korea Inactive Bazzi Park Jun-ki (박준기) Munchkin Byeon Sang-beom (변상범) BuZz Yu Byung-chul (유병철) Hate Lee Ye-hun (이예훈) xeta Son Seon-ho (손선호) . When the team was disbanded, he joined BearClaw Gaming BearClaw Gaming Inactive joshh Joshua Leow bryce Bryce Lee Flaring Henri Forichon JayH Wong Jia Heng when they set their sights on a Korean roster. He then joined MUYAHO MUYAHO Inactive 10X Choi Jin-woo (최진우) BuZz Yu Byung-chul (유병철) GANA Jeon Hyeong-heon (전형헌) Harry Kim Han-kyu (김한규) iNTRO Kang Seung-gyun (강승균) , who were later acquired by Rio Company Rio Company Inactive SungJin Ko Sung-jin (고성진) Sunday Kim Min-soo (김민수) SeliG Um Hyun-sung (엄현성) LuZ Lim Ui-jun (임의준) Jinboong Kim Jin-won (김진원) .
BuZz signed with Vision Strikers in 2021, entering the spotlight of Korean Valorant. In his first season with the team, he competed at Masters Berlin and Champions 2021. After Vision Strikers was acquired by DRX the following season, BuZz reached Masters Reykjavik and Masters Copenhagen, and then finished third at Champions 2022.
BuZz has reached the last three Champions events as part of DRX's roster, and T1 will be looking to return with him in their squad. The Duelist, most known for his Jett, joins a T1 squad that, in 2024, hit below expectations. With a roster built around a handful of international names, T1 reached Masters Shanghai thanks to a third-placed Pacific Stage 1 finish, but they finished the season as the seventh-best team in the region.
